A toner includes toner particles containing a binder resin, a colorant, and inorganic fine particles, in which in a depth profile of an element distribution in a depth region from the outermost surface of a particle to a depth of 500 nm the depth profile being obtained by an element analysis performed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy using the toner as a sample, two or more minimum points of a concentration of a carbon element in the depth region exist, a concentration of an inorganic element becomes a maximum value at a depth position corresponding to each of the minimum points, and the inorganic element is an element derived from the inorganic fine particle.

Toner using small-particle size magnetic iron oxide

The present invention is a toner including a toner particle containing a binder resin and a charge control agent, wherein the binder resin includes a resin having a polyester unit with at least one aliphatic compound condensed to the terminal thereof, the at least one aliphatic compound being selected from the group consisting of aliphatic monocarboxylic acids each having 30 or more and 102 or less carbon atoms and aliphatic monoalcohols each having 30 or more and 102 or less carbon atoms; and the charge control agent includes a specific compound (a pyrazolone monoazo metal compound).

Toner and two-component developer

Provided is a magnetic toner, including a toner particle containing a binder resin and a magnetic iron oxide particle, in which: the binder resin includes a resin having a polyester unit in which at least one kind of aliphatic compound selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid having 30 to 102 carbon atoms and an aliphatic monoalcohol having 30 to 102 carbon atoms is condensed at an end of the polyester unit; a content of the magnetic iron oxide particle is from 30 to 80 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the binder resin; and the magnetic iron oxide particle satisfies the following conditions: (i) a number-based median diameter D50 is from 0.05 to 0.15 &#x3bc;m; (ii) a number-based ratio D10/D50 is from 0.40 to 1.00; and (iii) a number-based ratio D90/D50 is from 1.00 to 1.50.

Magnetic toner

A toner comprising a binder resin and a wax, wherein the binder resin contains a binder resin A and a binder resin B, the binder resin A has a softening point of at least 120&#xb0; C. and not more than 150&#xb0; C., has a polyester unit, and has a terminal of which a first aliphatic compound having a melting point of 60&#xb0; C. or more and not more than 85&#xb0; C. has been condensed, and the binder resin B has a softening point of at least 80&#xb0; C. and not more than 115&#xb0; C., has a polyester unit, and has a terminal of which a second aliphatic compound having a melting point of 90&#xb0; C. or more and not more than 120&#xb0; C. has been condensed.

To provide a toner that can keep its melt-sticking to sleeve from occurring and, even in double-sided printing, can keep high-temperature offset from occurring and obtain high-quality images on both the surface and the back. The toner comprises toner particles each of which contains a binder resin containing a resin formed by the reaction of i) a resin (A) having a softening point TA (&#xb0; C.) of 70&#xb0; C. to 105&#xb0; C. and having a peak top of endothermic peaks at 55&#xb0; C. to 120&#xb0; C. with ii) a resin (B) having a softening point TB (&#xb0; C.) of 120&#xb0; C. to 160&#xb0; C. and having a peak top of endothermic peaks at 55&#xb0; C. to 120&#xb0; C., and, in its viscoelasticity characteristics, has a storage elastic modulus at temperature 180&#xb0; C. (G'180) of 3.0&#xd7;10Pa to 3.0&#xd7;10Pa, where the loss tangent tan &#x3b4; has at least one peak having a peak top within the range of 50&#xb0; C. to 70&#xb0; C. and, when peak top temperature of the peak is represented by T(&#xb0; C.), the loss tangent at T+10(&#xb0; C.) [tan &#x3b4;(T+10)] is 1.0 to 1.5 and the ratio of tan &#x3b4;(T+10)/tan &#x3b4;() is 0.8 to 1.5.

A toner is provided which is superior in the long-term storage stability and has high low-temperature fixing properties. In a DSC curve as measured with a differential scanning calorimeter, the toner has a glass transition temperature of not less than 50&#xb0; C. and not more than 60&#xb0; C.; and the toner has, in regard to a resin composition contained therein, a difference of not less than 0.060 W/g in heat flow between a point on the curve at a temperature of 40&#xb0; C. and a baseline in the range exceeding the glass transition temperature; and in viscoelastic characteristics measured at a frequency of 6.28 rad/sec, the toner has a storage elastic modulus (G'40) at a temperature of 40&#xb0; C. of not less than 7.0&#xd7;10Pa and not more than 2.0&#xd7;10Pa, and a storage elastic modulus (G&#x2032;70) at a temperature of 70&#xb0; C. of not less than 1.0&#xd7;10Pa and not more than 1.0&#xd7;10Pa.
