A liquid crystal display apparatus includes: a display panel having a display region and a peripheral region; a front cover; a first buffer member; a panel holder; and a second buffer member. The peripheral region includes four corner portions and four central portions. At least one buffer member of the first buffer member and the second buffer member includes a plurality of cushion members and at least one resin sheet. The at least one buffer member does not include a cushion member formed of a resin between the four corner portions and the front cover or between the four corner portions and the panel holder.

A display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention is a display panel having a display region including a plurality of pixels arrayed along a first direction and along a second direction which is different from the first direction, the display panel including a first substrate and a second substrate opposing each other, the first substrate and the second substrate being curved along the first direction. The first substrate has a color filter layer that includes: a plurality of color filters provided respectively corresponding to the plurality of pixels; and a black matrix having a plurality of light shielding portions disposed between adjacent color filters adjoining along the first direction. The second substrate includes a plurality of pixel electrodes respectively included in the plurality of pixels. The display region includes a central portion including a center of the display region along the first direction and, on both sides of the central portion along the first direction, a first end portion and a second end portion that are located adjacent to the central portion. The plurality of pixels include a plurality of central pixels contained in the central portion and a plurality of end pixels contained in the first end portion or the second end portion. The plurality of light shielding portions include a plurality of central light shielding portions contained in the central portion and a plurality of end light shielding portions contained in the first end portion or the second end portion. A width of the plurality of end light shielding portions along the first direction is greater than a width of the plurality of central light shielding portions along the first direction.

An illuminating device () according to the present invention is provided with: a substrate () having a surface, on which a plurality of light sources () are mounted; a housing (), in which an opening is defined; a diffusion plate () that is disposed facing a bottom plate section () so as to close the opening; a duct () having an air inlet () and an air outlet (); a fan () that generates an airflow in the duct (); a first flow channel (P); and a second flow channel (P). The first flow channel (P) communicates a space inside of the housing () closed by the diffusion plate () with the inside of the duct (). The housing () is connected to, via a first opening () that is provided at the bottom plate section () or a side plate section (), a venturi section () that is formed between the air inlet () and the air outlet () of the duct (). Without being connected to the duct (), the second flow channel (P) communicates the inside and the outside of the housing () with each other via a second opening () that is provided at the bottom plate section () or the side plate section ().

Illuminating device and display apparatus

To provide a display device whereby luminance distribution uniformity within a display surface can be improved. A display device of the present invention is provided with: a rectangular display panel, one surface of which displays an image; a substrate, which is disposed to face the other surface of the display panel, said the other surface being on the reverse side of the one surface, and on which a plurality of light sources are mounted; a diffuser plate disposed between the display panel and the substrate; and a supporting member, which has an opening, which light emitted from the light sources passes through, and which supports the peripheral end of the diffuser plate. The display device is also provided with reflecting members, which are respectively provided at the peripheries of the light sources close to four corner portions of the display panel, and which reflect light diffused by the diffuser plate to the corner portions of the display panel.

A back light () is provided with: a back chassis () that has a bottom plate () in which a plurality of through-holes () are formed; a substrate () that has a surface on which a plurality of LEDs () are mounted and that is held by the bottom plate () outside a casing () so that the optical axes of the LEDs () overlap the respective through-holes (); and a light transmissive plate-like member () that is superimposed on the bottom plate () from the inside of the casing () so as to close the through-holes (). Provided is a display device that makes it possible to enhance the uniformity of brightness distribution with a display surface. The display device is provided with: a display panel having one surface on which an image is displayed; a substrate that is arranged facing the other surface of the display panel and that has a plurality of light sources mounted thereon; a rectangular diffuser plate arranged between the display panel and the substrate; and two support members that comprises an opening through which light from the light sources passes and that support the diffuser plate by sandwiching the peripheral edge of the diffuser plate from the display panel side and the substrate side. Light-transmitting sections through which light that has passed through the diffuser plate passes are provided to the four corners of the support member on the display panel side.

Provided is a display device wherein the uniformity of luminance distribution on a display surface can be improved. The display device includes: a rectangular display panel on one surface of which an image is displayed; a substrate disposed to face the other surface of the display panel opposite to the one surface, and having a plurality of light sources mounted thereon; a diffuser disposed between the display panel and the substrate; and a supporting member supporting the peripheral edge of the diffuser, and having an opening through which light from the light sources passes. Provided is a light-source device comprising a light guide plate having a rectangular shape, a light source facing a side surface of the light guide plate, a reflective sheet having a rectangular shape facing one broad surface of the light guide plate, and a plate-shaped member provided at a distance from the one broad surface. The light source side edge of the reflective sheet is located inwards of a light source side edge of the light guide plate such that a part of the one broad surface on the light source side is formed as an exposed surface, and light leakage prevention unit filling the space between the exposed surface and the plate-shaped member is provided with a protruding portion protruding towards the light source. A reflective body is provided at a position corresponding to a clearance provided between the edge of the reflective sheet and the light-leakage prevention unit.
