A terminal fitting is mounted on a terminal accommodation chamber formed in a connector housing by being engaged with an elastically deformable lance provided in the terminal accommodation chamber. The terminal fitting includes a bite resistance increasing part that is formed only at an upper portion of a hole edge engagement end face of an engaging hole to be engaged with the lance and increases a bite resistance to the lance. An lower portion of the hole edge engagement end face is flat. The bite resistance increasing part has a wave-shaped part that is formed by partially pressing the hole edge engagement end face.

Terminal fitting

A connectorincluding a flexible engagement piecewhich has a base end supported like a cantilever in a terminal accommodation chamberfor accommodating a terminal fitting and is thus deformable elastically, and has a free endwith which the terminal fitting to be inserted into the terminal accommodation chamberis engaged, wherein the flexible engagement piecehaving a beakformed on the free endto be engaged with the terminal fitting takes a shape of an inclined surfacehaving a height of a top portionincreased gradually from the free endtoward the base end in such a manner that a maximum shear area is obtained by a shear force of the terminal fitting.

Connector

A connector includes a ground terminal connected to a braid shield of a coaxial cable at an end portion thereof, a housing receiving the ground terminal therein, and an earth plate for connecting the ground terminal to a mating member of a conductive nature provided outside the housing. The earth plate is formed by pressing a single metal sheet into a predetermined shape, and includes a housing retaining portion for being retainingly mounted on the housing, a terminal retaining/connecting portion for being engaged with the ground terminal to retain the ground terminal within the housing and also to be electrically connected to the ground terminal, and a grounding portion for electrical connection to the mating member.
