In receiving radio waves from a transmitter by an array antenna, and estimating an arrival direction of a direct wave, delay times of the arriving waves are estimated () by means of a super-resolution process based on transmission channel estimation results, an arriving wave component corresponding to the delay time having been determined to be equal to or longer than a threshold value is removed () from the transmission channel estimation results, arriving wave components after the removal are separated from each other to extract direct wave components (), and an arrival angle is estimated (). The arrival direction of the direct wave can be accurately estimated in an environment where delayed waves of short delay times are present. Also, the amount of calculation is small even when the super-resolution process is performed.

Receiving apparatus and receiving method, and program and recording medium

A receiver apparatusestimates a plurality of first electric-power delay profiles from a plurality of digital signals based on signals received via an array antenna; generates a synthesized electric-power delay profile q(m, l) by synthesizing these; generates an array process signal y(k) from the plurality of digital signals; estimates a second electric-power delay profile from the array process signal; generates a difference electric-power delay profile d(m, l) by subtracting the second electric-power delay profile from the synthesized electric-power delay profile; and creates a two-dimensional map indicating a relationship between delay times and arrival angles of incoming waves, on the basis of the difference electric-power delay profile and a direction of a null point. The receiver apparatuschanges the direction of the null point and repeats the above process, and estimates an arrival angle &#x3b8;of a direct wave on the basis of the two-dimensional map.

Receiver apparatus and reception method

A reception device () includes: AGC circuits () to generate electric power information individually indicating signal strengths of respective received signals generated from a respective plurality of radio waves received at a plurality of places; stationary-state detection circuits () to calculate individually the amounts of time domain fluctuation in the respective signal strengths indicated by the electric power information generated by the AGC circuits (), and to detect individually, on the basis of the respective calculated amounts of fluctuation, whether the reception device () is stationary or not; and a self-stationary determination circuit () to determine, on the basis of a plurality of detection results from the stationary-state detection circuits (), whether the reception device () is stationary or not.

Reception device and reception method

A digital broadcast receiver receives a digital broadcast signal through a plurality of antennas, orthogonally demodulates the received signals, performs channel estimation by detecting a delay profile from a known signal included in each of the orthogonally demodulated signals, and uses the channel estimation results to equalize data signals included in the orthogonally demodulated signals. The delay profiles are also used to estimate the signal quality of each of the equalized data signals by determining the power of the signal component and the power of the noise component in each delay profile and calculating a signal to noise ratio. Diversity combining is performed by weighting the equalized data signals on a basis of their estimated signal quality.
