A slurry rheology modifier comprises a first water-soluble low-molecular compound [referred to hereinafter as compound (A)] and a second water-soluble low-molecular compound [referred to hereinafter as compound (B)] being different from the compound (A), wherein the viscosity of an aqueous solution at 20&#xb0; C. prepared by mixing an aqueous solution S(with a viscosity at 20&#xb0; C. of 100 mPa&#xb7;s or less) of compound (A) with an aqueous solution S(with a viscosity at 20&#xb0; C. of 100 mPa&#xb7;s or less) of compound (B) in the ratio of 50/50 by weight can be at least twice as high as the viscosity of either aqueous solution before mixed.

A liquid deinking composition comprising (a) a fatty acid mixture containing 40 to 90 weight % of saturated fatty acids having 12 to 14 carbon atoms and less than 60 weight % of saturated fatty acids having 16 to 18 carbon atoms, (b) a nonionic surfactant with HLB of 2 to 12 in a proportion of (a)/(b)=5/95 to 40/60 (weight ratio), and (c) 0 to 20 weight % (based on the composition) of water. No crystals of fatty acids are precipitated at ambient temperatures, and the separation, solidification or precipitation of crystals due to a temperature change is not caused. Further, the handling property is improved because of the liquid form.

Absorbent article having an improved non-woven fabric layer

An absorbent article using, as a surface material (or a liquid-permeable top sheet), a nonwoven fabric is disclosed, the nonwoven fabric containing at least 10% by weight of a conjugate fiber comprising first and second parts differing from each other, wherein the second part covers at least a part of the first part, at least the first part contains an inorganic component in a proportion higher than that contained in the second part, and the content of the inorganic component in the first part is at least 1.5% by weight based on the weight of the first part. The nonwoven fabric has excellent cutting properties while retaining satisfactory strength, absorbency and touch.

An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin and a diaper is improved in the surface material by use of a non-woven fabric of hot-melt fibers which melts at 90.degree. to 140.degree. C. It is disposable.
