A hydrostatic transaxle includes: a casing that is provided with an openable and closable filter insertion port and is filled with hydraulic oil; a hydraulic continuously variable transmission that is arranged inside the casing; a filter holding member that includes a support base that is a hollow cylindrical portion and oil-tightly partitions an inside of a cylinder and an outside of the cylinder, and a filter connection port that is a hollow cylindrical portion extending from a peripheral side surface of the support base and communicating with the inside of the cylinder, the support base communicating the inside of the cylinder to the port, and arranged between the center section and the casing facing the port; and a filter body that is freely inserted to and removed from the casing via the filter insertion port.

Hydrostatic transaxle

A hydraulic transaxle of the present invention includes an axle, a hydraulic static transmission ('HST'), a center case that has pair of oil passages for circulating the hydraulic oil between the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor, and a gear mechanism that transmits an output of the HST to the axle. A case supports the axle and accommodates the HST while also forming an oil reservoir. A hydraulic motor of the HST includes a motor shaft, a cylinder block with a plurality of cylinders fixed to the motor shaft, a plurality of pistons inserted into the cylinders, a fixed swash plate abutted by the plurality of pistons, and a fixed swash plate holder that supports the fixed swash plate with respect to the case. The motor shaft of the hydraulic motor is supported by the center case and the fixed swash plate holder.

Hydraulic transaxle

A traveling hydraulic stepless transmission ('HST'), ensures stopping of a vehicle on a slope under high load conditions, maintains stopping the vehicle on flat ground under low load conditions, and enables smooth starting from a stop. The HST includes a neutral check valve ('NCV') and an internal damping system (&#x201c;IDS&#x201d;). The NCV includes a first orifice that opens a first oil passage to a transaxle case when a pressure in the first oil passage is equal to or less than a predetermined pressure, and that connects the second oil passage to the transaxle case when a pressure in a second oil passage is equal to or less than the predetermined pressure. The IDS includes second orifices that connect a high pressure side of the oil passages to the transaxle case when a discharge rate of the hydraulic pump is equal to or less than a predetermined discharge rate.

Traveling hydraulic stepless transmission

A hydraulic transaxle comprises an axial piston hydraulic pump having a variable displacement, and a transaxle casing incorporating the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump includes a movable swash plate and a pair of trunnion shafts. The transaxle casing includes a pair of side walls, and includes a pair of casing holes each of which penetrates each of the side walls between an inside and an outside of the transaxle casing. The pair of trunnion shafts are passed through the respective casing holes. The swash plate is formed with a pair of swash plate holes in the respective side portions facing the respective side walls in the inside of the transaxle casing. Proximal end portions of the respective trunnion shafts are inserted into the respective swash plate holes. A distal end portion of one of the trunnion shafts projects from the corresponding casing hole to the outside of the transaxle casing.

A transaxle includes a continuously variable transmission including a speed control arm and a neutral return spring allowing a biasing force to act on the speed control arm toward a neutral position, the speed control arm configured to operate from the neutral position to a forward position or a backward position to perform a continuous speed variation. The biasing force does not act on the speed control arm when the neutral return spring ranges from the neutral position to a predetermined speed position on a forward movement side, and the biasing force acts on the speed control arm when the neutral return spring ranges from the predetermined speed position to a maximum speed position on the forward movement side.

Transaxle and vehicle with it

A transaxle comprises a hydrostatic transmission (hereinafter, 'HST'), an axle, a gear train transmitting power from the HST to the axle, a casing carrying the HST, the gear train and the axle and providing a fluid sump. The casing has an air space over the fluid sump of a gear chamber, a breather cap for ventilation of the air space and for an oil cap is installed on a top part of the casing, and a partition plate is installed right under the breather cap and prevents the fluid sup facing directly to the breather cap.

Transaxle

A housing of a hydraulic pump is configured to have a servo unit detachably attached thereto so as to control tilt direction and angle of its movable swash plate. A port block is formed therein with a pair of main ports and, and a pair of main fluid passages and fluidly connecting respective main ports and to cylinders in its cylinder block. Main ports are used to have respective external pipes connected thereto so as to fluidly connect the hydraulic pump to a hydraulic motor disposed outside of the hydraulic pump, thereby constituting a hydrostatic transmission.

Hydraulic pump and detachable servo unit

A transaxle comprises a transaxle casing, axle, brake, brake arm, first and second link members, and relay arm. The brake includes a brake operation shaft pivotally supported by the transaxle casing for shifting between brake activation and inactivation states. A starting end of the first link member is connected to a manipulator, and a terminal end of the second link member is connected to the brake arm. The relay arm is pivotally centered on a first pivotal axis outside of the transaxle casing, and includes a first arm portion extended from the first pivotal axis to a first end and a second arm portion extended from the first pivotal axis to a second end. A terminal end of the first link member is connected to the first arm portion, and a starting end of the second link member is connected to the second arm portion.

Transaxle including brake

A transaxle comprises a hydrostatic transmission (HST), an axle, a gear train interposed between the HST and the axle, a casing and a partition. The casing defines an HST chamber and a gear chamber. The HST is disposed in the HST chamber. The gear train and the axle are disposed in the gear chamber. The partition is disposed in the casing so as to separate the HST chamber and the gear chamber from each other. The partition has an opening through which a hydraulic motor of the HST passes to extend from the HST chamber into the gear chamber so as to be drivingly connected to the gear train. The partition obstructs a flow of fluid between a fluid sump in the HST chamber from a fluid sump in the gear chamber.

A shift-drum speed change mechanism includes a first drum spring biasing a first drum toward a first side in an axial direction, which is a side on which a first slider comes into contact with a first speed change member, a first fork spring biasing a first shift fork toward a second side in the axial direction, which is a side opposite to the first side in the axial direction, with a weaker biasing force than the first drum spring, and a first stopper member for the first drum, defining an end of movement of the first drum toward the first side in the axial direction.

Shift-drum speed change mechanism

A transaxle includes a hydrostatic transmission and an axle driven by the hydrostatic transmission. The hydrostatic transmission includes a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor fluidly connected to each other. The hydraulic pump has a pump shaft. The hydraulic motor has a motor shaft drivingly connected to the axle. The motor shaft has an axis extended slantwise from an axis of the pump shaft. The transaxle further includes a gear train for transmitting power from the motor shaft to the axle, and a gear locking system having a locking pawl. A gear of the gear train is adapted to engage with the locking pawl.

A hydrostatic stepless transmission ('HST') includes a center casing into which a plunger block of a hydraulic pump and a plunger block of a hydraulic motor are inserted. Plunger ports are open and aligned peripherally on an outer peripheral surface of each plunger block. A pair of main fluid passages of a closed fluid circuit fluidly connecting the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic motor are formed in opposite side portions of the center casing. Each of the main fluid passage includes peripheral grooves formed on an inner peripheral surface of the center casing so as to face the plunger ports of the respective plunger blocks, and includes an axial fluid duct formed to be interposed between the peripheral grooves. A bearing gap is provided between the inner peripheral surface of the center casing and the outer peripheral surface of the plunger block so as to cause a dynamic pressure action of fluid.
