A perfluorovinyloxy polyether carboxylic acid alkali metal salt represented by the general formula is provided:CF&#x2550;CF[OCFCF(CF)]O(CF)O[CF(CF)CFO]CF(CF)COOM&#x2003;&#x2003;[I],wherein M is alkali metal, preferably sodium or potassium, a is an integer of 1 to 6, preferably 2, and b+c is an integer of 0 to 6, preferably 0 or 1. This perfluorovinyloxy polyether carboxylic acid alkali metal salt is produced by subjecting a perfluorovinyloxy polyether carboxylic acid alkyl ester represented by the general formula:CF&#x2550;CF[OCFCF(CF)]O(CF)O[CF(CF)CFO]CF(CF)COOR&#x2003;&#x2003;[II],wherein R is an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a is an integer of 1 to 6, and b+c is an integer of 0 to 6; to hydrolysis or solvolysis in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide.

Disclosed is a fluorine-containing polymer aqueous dispersion in which a fluorine-containing polymer is dispersed using, as an emulsifier, a polyfluoroalkylphosphonic acid salt represented by the general formula:CF(CHCF)(CFCF)(CHCH)P(O)(OM)(OM)&#x2003;&#x2003;[I],wherein Mis a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium base, or an organic amine base, Mis an alkali metal, an ammonium base, or an organic amine base, n is an integer of 1 to 6, a is an integer of 1 to 4, b is an integer of 1 to 3, and c is an integer of 1 to 3. This fluorine-containing polymer aqueous dispersion uses a polyfluoroalkylphosphonic acid salt with a low bioaccumulation potential as an emulsifier, and has excellent mechanical stability.

Disclosed is a peroxide-crosslinkable fluoroelastomer obtained by copolymerization of 0.1 to 20 mol % of a mixture of fluoroolefin iodides represented by the general formulae: CFCFCH&#x2550;CF(CFCF)I [Ia] and CFCF&#x2550;CHCF(CFCF)I [Ib], wherein n is an integer of 0 to 5, and m is an integer of 1 to 3. The peroxide-crosslinkable fluoroelastomer is copolymerized with a monomer having a side chain containing a peroxide-crosslinkable halogen atom, and has excellent vulcanizate physical properties and improved compression set characteristics when subjected to peroxide crosslinking.
