A second color region, overlapping with the first color region over at least one pixel, is formed by the second layer, or the first and second color regions are formed in the first layer and a third color region is formed by the second layer between the first and second color regions in the first layer. The first dye receiving resin is hydrophobic and the second is hydrophilic when the filter is formed on the surface of a solid-state imager, and vice versa when the filter is formed on a substrate. A light intercepting layer intervenes between the first and second layers.
