A cooling device includes a casing having a peripheral wall, a plurality of heat exchangers disposed side by side so as to extend transversely in the casing, and a plurality of fans opposed to the plurality of heat exchangers. The casing has a plurality of baffles that extend from the heat exchanger group side toward the cooling fan group side in a space surrounded by the peripheral wall and is arrayed in an arrangement direction of the plurality of heat exchanges. A one side end portion of each baffle is positioned on a boundary between two mutually adjacent heat exchangers or on one of the heat exchangers. The fifth fan is disposed at such a position as to be opposed to one of the plurality of baffles, and other fans are disposed at a position between the peripheral wall and a baffle or between the plurality of baffles.

A power storage device includes a battery containing body, an electronic device unit, and a chassis for housing them, wherein at a side surface portion of the chassis, an opening for inserting and removing the battery containing body and the electronic device unit is provided; an openable and closable pivoting member is provided inside the opening, the pivoting member, when closed, preventing removal of the battery containing body, and when opened, preventing insertion of the electronic device unit as removed; and the electronic device unit is housed and disposed adjacent to the battery containing body, and includes an opening prevention guide capable of engaging with the pivoting member and thereby preventing the pivoting member from being opened when the electronic device unit is housed.

The present invention provides a transmission/reception apparatus capable of achieving both a high processing speed and good extensibility in performing communication protocol processes. Used for transmitting data in accordance with a predetermined communication protocol and receiving data transmitted in accordance with the predetermined communication protocol, the transmission/reception apparatus has a configuration capable of executing communication protocol processes by using hardware (in first and second communication-protocol-processing units) and software (in first and second control units). The hardware or the software can be selected properly in accordance with the type of data. For example, a communication protocol process for data regarded as a heavy processing load can be carried out by using the hardware at the high processing speed whereas a communication protocol process for data regarded as a light processing load can be carried out by using the software, which offers the good extensibility.

To eliminate a signal deviation that occurs when scaling processing is performed on image data including multiple signals having different data rates, there is provided an image processing apparatus which performs scaling processing on image data including multiple signals having different data rates and includes a first scaling processing unit that performs a first scaling processing according to a first scale factor in a first area; and a second scaling processing unit that performs a second scaling processing subsequent to the first scaling processing, according to a second scale factor in a second area adjacent to the first area, on a signal having a high data rate using the first scale factor, and performs the second scaling processing on a signal having a low data rate using the second scale factor obtained by correcting the first scale factor, after the first scaling processing.

Image processing apparatus and method

A data processing apparatus constitutes a low-cost audio/video data transmission and reception system. A reception buffer monitoring circuitmonitors the size of receiver data being accumulated in a reception buffer. When the size of accumulated data is found to become higher than a high threshold, the circuitcauses a reception clock generation circuitto generate a reception clock with a higher frequency. When the accumulated data size becomes lower than a low threshold, the reception clock is generated with a lower frequency. Based on the reception clock fed from the reception clock generation circuit, an audio/video decoderdecodes the audio/video data coming from the reception buffer. The data processing apparatus applies advantageously to a television transmission and reception system for transmitting and receiving TV broadcast signals.

Data processing apparatus which prevents data overflow and underflow

A mobile station receives first and second signals from first and second antennas. A plurality of fingers each demodulate the signals for one propagation path. A Rake combiner combines the demodulated signals by removing phase fluctuations among the fingers. Each finger includes a correlator descrambling the first and second signals for the propagation path, a channel coefficient calculating section calculating first and second channel coefficients of the descrambled signals, first and second average channel coefficient calculating sections calculating first and second average channel coefficients of the first and second channel coefficients, respectively, a synchronous detector performing a synchronous detection upon the descrambled signals using the average channel coefficients, and a channel coefficient clearing section detecting a path switching of the first and second signals to clear either one of the first and second channel coefficients or one of the first and second average channel coefficients.

The information collecting/providing system includes one or more terminal devices, an information collection/management apparatus connectable to the one or more terminal devices via a communication network, and an collected-information database connected to the information collection/management apparatus. The information collection/management apparatus receives collected information from the one or more terminal devices and stores the received information into the collected-information database. If the information collection/management apparatus receives a request from a terminal device, the information collection/management apparatus transmits, to the terminal device, collected information allowed for a user of the terminal device to read.
