This secondary battery electrode is provided with a core material configured from a metal foil that softens at less than or equal to 200° C., and an electrode mixture sheet which is bonded on the surface of the core material. The electrode mixture sheet includes an active material and a fibrous binder, and the active material bites into the core material, with the maximum bite depth at least 30% of the thickness of the core material. The fibrous binder may for example have polytetrafluoroethylene as the main component.

A method for producing a lithium-containing composite oxide, the method including: a first step of preparing a lithium hydroxide; a second step of heating a hydroxide containing nickel and a metal M1 other than lithium and nickel to 300° C. or higher and 800° C. or lower, to obtain a composite oxide containing the nickel and the metal M; a third step of mixing the lithium hydroxide and the composite oxide, to obtain a mixture; a fourth step of compression-molding the mixture, to obtain a molded body; and a fifth step of baking the molded body at 600° C. or higher and 850° C. or lower, to obtain a baked body.

A negative electrode material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes: a lithium silicate phase including lithium silicate particles; silicon particles dispersed in the lithium silicate phase; and a low-melting point inorganic oxide that has a lower melting point than lithium silicate forming the lithium silicate particles, and that is solid at room temperature. The lithium silicate particles and the silicon particles form a particle agglomerate, and the low-melting point inorganic oxide is filled in at least a portion of voids included in the particle agglomerate.

The carbonaceous material layer includes a first region having a porosity of 4.7% or more and 34.8% or less, the first region being a region extending from the surface of the inorganic particle to the surface of an imaginary sphere that is centered at the center of the inorganic particle and has a radius of 3r, where r is a radius of the inorganic particle.

A negative electrode material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a plurality of composite particles. Each of the plurality of composite particles includes an inorganic particle, one or more covering layers, each of which is in contact with a surface of the inorganic particle, and a carbonaceous material layer that covers the inorganic particle and has voids. The carbonaceous material layer includes a first region having a porosity of 4.3% or more and 10.0% or less, the first region being a region extending from the surface of the inorganic particle to the surface of an imaginary sphere that is centered at the center of the inorganic particle and has a radius of 3r, where r is a radius of the inorganic particle. Each of the voids is separated by one of the one or more covering layers from the surface of the inorganic particle.
