A head maintenance device includes a wiping section which wipes a nozzle plane, on which a plurality of nozzles to eject ink are provided, of an inkjet head. The wiping section includes a wiping member including a cloth, an elastic body and a support, in the order named from a side where the wiping section comes into contact with the inkjet head.
