In one embodiment, a pipe inspecting apparatus includes a selection module configured to select first and second ultrasonic optical probes from a plurality of ultrasonic optical probes attached to a pipe. The apparatus further includes a power supplying module configured to supply power to an ultrasonic transducer of the first ultrasonic optical probe to input an ultrasonic wave from the ultrasonic transducer to the pipe and to supply the ultrasonic wave via the pipe to an optical fiber sensor of the second ultrasonic optical probe. The apparatus further includes a light detection module configured to detect laser light transmitted through the optical fiber sensor of the second ultrasonic optical probe.

In one embodiment, a steam turbine facility includes drain piping in which a shut-off valve is provided, the drain piping being either a valve drain pipe that leads a drain from the main steam regulating valve to an outside thereof, or a casing drain pipe that leads a drain from the turbine casing to an outside thereof. A heat absorber disposed in a range, upstream of the shut-off valve, of the drain piping to absorb heat of the drain piping.

In a flange fastening section that includes a flange of a pipe for forming a connection of the pipe to another pipe by connection of the flange to a flange of the another pipe, the flange has a groove in the face to be connected to the flange of the another pipe for forming the connection. A gasket including expanded graphite is at least partly accommodated in the groove, and at least one O-ring is at least partly accommodated in the groove and at the peripheral surface of the gasket. The O-ring has a cavity through which working fluid may flow, an inlet piping into which the working fluid may flow and an outlet piping out of which the working fluid may flow.
