A safety cover () for a mold clamping device that surrounds the mold clamping device () of an injection molding machine. The safety cover () includes a support frame () attached to the mold clamping device (), a safety door (), and a connecting mechanism () that connects an upper portion of the safety door () to the support frame (). The connecting mechanism () includes a first rail () on the support frame (), a second rail () on the safety door (), and an intermediate plate () arranged between the first rail () and the second rail ().

Safety cover for mold clamping device

A base for an injection molding machine has two side frames extending parallel with the axis of a drive actuator. Each of the side frames includes a lower flange supported by a bed, an upper flange disposed parallel with the lower flange, at least two webs connecting the upper flange and the lower flange, and a web reinforcing member fixed to the webs and penetrating through the webs. The side frames each have stiffeners connected between the lower and upper flanges and to one of the webs.

Base for injection molding machine

A motor-driven apparatus includes a pump and a servo motor connected respectively to outer sides of opposed upstanding support plates. A pump shaft and a servo motor shaft extend horizontally toward each other into a space between the support plates and are coupled together by a flexible coupling. The servo motor includes a fan cover enclosing and spaced from a motor frame of the servo motor. A cooling fan disposed inside the fan cover circulates air in the space between the fan cover and the motor frame to air-cool the motor frame.

Electric pump apparatus

A mold clamping apparatus of the type including a mold opening/closing actuator and a mold clamping cylinder, wherein rails for guiding a movable platen are disposed on a base, and the mold clamping cylinder has a left leg and a right leg each disposed between one pair of left and right rails of the rails. The rails provided for guiding the movable platen is used also as a side guide for the mold clamping cylinder. This arrangement can obviate the need for a separate guide member.

Mold clamping apparatus

A mold clamping apparatus includes a mold clamping cylinder. The mold clamping cylinder has, in a region thereof located below left and right lower tie bars and above left and right sliders, a left grooved portion opened leftward and elongated horizontally, a right grooved portion opened rightward and elongated horizontally, and a leg portion formed between the left and right grooved portions. The leg portion and the left and right grooved portions together form a constricted part.

A mold clamping apparatus includes a fixed platen, a mold clamping cylinder, a movable platen moved by the mold clamping cylinder toward the fixed platen, and a mold opening/closing actuator for moving the movable platen or the mold clamping cylinder. The mold clamping apparatus further includes a mold thickness adjustment cylinder provided between the mold clamping cylinder and the movable platen, the mold thickness adjustment cylinder being configured to generate an axial force larger than an axial force in an expanding direction of the mold opening/closing actuator and smaller than an axial force in a contracting direction of the mold clamping cylinder.

A purge shield provided on an injection molding machine includes a front plate attached to a fixed platen, a top plate extending horizontally from an upper edge of the front plate, and left and right side plates extending vertically downward from left and right side edges, respectively, of the top plate. The top plate includes a fixed plate section and a movable plate section pivotally connected by first hinges to the fixed plate section. The left side plate is pivotally connected by second hinges to the movable plate section and constitutes a lifting plate. A lower end of the lifting plate is connected by a pin to a vertical guide groove formed in the front plate.

Method of controlling an injection molding machine

Disclosed is a hydraulic drive system of an injection molding machine which has a hydraulic power source equipped with a fixed-displacement hydraulic pump and a servomotor for driving the hydraulic pump and functioning to control discharge rate and discharge pressure of the hydraulic pump through control of the rotational speed of the servomotor. In the hydraulic drive system, a pilot port of a control valve connected to a hydraulic actuator of the injection molding machine is connected to a supply line of working fluid discharged from the hydraulic power source, via a series circuit including a check valve for preventing backflow from the pilot port and a changeover valve.

Hydraulic drive system of an injection molding machine

Gas (air) is supplied into an oil transfer line extending between a front oil chamber of an injection cylinder and an oil tank during a molding cycle, excluding an injection step, thereby preventing impact which would otherwise occur due to oil pressure generated upon start of injection in the injection step. Thus, immediately before the start of the injection step, the oil transfer line becomes empty of or almost empty of oil. Accordingly, even when high-pressure oil is supplied into the injection cylinder in an impactive manner upon start of injection, pressure oil ejected from the injection cylinder flows swiftly through the oil transfer line.
