A method for manufacturing a display apparatus having high display quality is provided. A method for manufacturing a display apparatus including first to third insulators, first and second conductors, and first and second EL layers is provided. The first conductor is formed over the first insulator, and the second insulator is formed over the first insulator and over the first conductor. A first opening portion reaching the first conductor is formed in the second insulator. A sacrificial layer is formed over the second insulator and over a bottom surface of the first opening portion, and a resist is applied over the sacrificial layer. Light exposure and development are performed on the resist, so that a second opening portion reaching the sacrificial layer is formed in a region overlapping with the first conductor. A third opening portion is formed in a region of a bottom surface of the second opening portion, and the first EL layer is formed over the resist, over the sacrificial layer, and over the first conductor. Then, the resist and the sacrificial layer are removed, whereby the first EL layer over the resist and over the sacrificial layer is removed. The second EL layer is formed over the first EL layer and over the second insulator, and the second conductor and the third insulator are formed in order over the second EL layer.

Display apparatus, electronic device, and method for manufacturing display apparatus

A high-definition or high-resolution display apparatus is provided. In the display apparatus, a first light-emitting device includes a first pixel electrode, a first light-emitting layer, and a common electrode. A second light-emitting device includes a second pixel electrode, a second light-emitting layer, and the common electrode. End portions of the first and second pixel electrodes are covered with a first insulating layer. A second insulating layer covers side surfaces of the first and second light-emitting layers. A first color conversion layer overlaps the first light-emitting device. A second color conversion layer overlaps the second light-emitting device. The first and second light-emitting devices each have a function of emitting blue light. The first and second color conversion layers each have a function of converting light.

Display apparatus, display module, electronic device, and method for manufacturing display apparatus

A thin optical device having high light utilization efficiency and less chromatic aberration and a small electronic device including the optical device are provided. The thin optical device includes a first reflective polarizing plate, a lens, an optical rotator, a retardation plate, and a second reflective polarizing plate. The optical device can be a thin optical device by rotation of the polarization plane of linearly polarized light with the optical rotator and utilization of a property of selectively reflecting circularly polarized light of the second reflective polarizing plate. Furthermore, the optical device does not use a half mirror and thus has a property of high light utilization efficiency. When the second reflective polarizing plate has a layered structure, chromatic aberration of an optical system can be reduced.

A novel light-emitting device that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The light-emitting device includes an insulating film, a group of structure bodies, a layer containing a light-emitting material, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The group of structure bodies includes a structure body and a different structure body, a first distance is provided between the different structure body and the structure body, the insulating film includes a first surface, the structure body includes a sidewall, the sidewall forms a first angle with the first surface, and the first angle is greater than 0° and less than or equal to 90°. The layer containing a light-emitting material includes a first region and a second region, the first region is interposed between the second electrode and the first electrode, light is emitted from the first region, the second region is interposed between the second electrode and the sidewall, and the sidewall reflects light. The first electrode includes a third region, and the third region is interposed between the first region and the first surface.

Light-emitting device configured to improve light-extraction efficiency including reflective structure body between first electrode and light-emitting material, functional panel, display device, input/output device, and data processing device

A functional panel comprises a convex lens, an insulating film, a first region configured to emit first light of a first light emitting element, and a second region configured to emit second light of a second light emitting element. The insulating film is interposed between the convex lens and at least one of the first region and the second region; the convex lens and the first region overlap each other; the convex lens and the second region overlap each other; the convex lens has a first length in a first direction; the convex lens has a second length in a second direction; the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction; the first length is larger than the second length; and the first region and the second region are aligned in the first direction.

Functional panel, display device, input/output device, and data processing device

An electronic device that can easily increase the viewing angle and has a reduced screen-door effect is provided. In the electronic device, images displayed on a display panel with a low pixel density and a display panel with a high pixel density are synthesized to be seen. The electronic device includes a first display panel that has a relatively large screen size and a low pixel density, and a second display panel and a third display panel each of which has a relatively small screen size and a high pixel density. The electronic device is configured such that visual information enters the central field of view from the second display panel or the third display panel and visual information enters the peripheral field of view from the first display panel. Such a configuration can easily increase the viewing angle and reduce the screen-door effect.

Electronic device

A display device having an image capturing function is provided. The display device includes a first pixel and a second pixel. The first pixel includes a light-emitting device. The second pixel includes a light-receiving device and a lens. The light-emitting device and the light-receiving device share an electrode. The lens and the light-receiving device include a region overlapping with each other. The width of the lens is greater than the width of a light-receiving portion of the light-receiving device. The cross-sectional shape of the lens in a thickness direction including an optical axis is a substantial trapezoid. The surface including a leg of the substantially trapezoidal shape has a convex shape. The surface including an upper base of the substantially trapezoidal shape and the light-receiving portion are provided to face each other. The first pixel and the second pixel are provided to be adjacent to each other.

Display device and electronic device

Damage to a flexible display can be prevented. A display device having improved mechanical strength can be provided. A display device () includes a display panel () and a protection cover (). The display panel () includes a first portion having flexibility. The protection cover () has a light-transmitting property and flexibility and is provided to overlap with a display surface side of the display panel (). The display device () has a function of being reversibly changed in shape to a first mode in which the display panel () and the protection cover () are each substantially flat and a second mode in which the first portion of the display panel () is curved such that the display surface side becomes a concave surface and part of the protection cover () is curved in the same direction as the first portion. In the second mode, there is a gap between the first portion and the protection cover.

Display device

A display device including display regions with inconspicuous seam is provided. The display device includes a first display panel and a second display panel. The first display panel includes a first display region and a visible-light-transmitting region. The second display panel includes a second display region. The first display region is adjacent to the visible-light-transmitting region. The first display region includes a first light-emitting element and a second light-emitting element. A first common electrode included in the first light-emitting element includes a portion in contact with a second common electrode included in the second light-emitting element. The first common electrode has a function of reflecting visible light. The second common electrode has a function of transmitting visible light. The second light-emitting element is positioned closer to the visible-light-transmitting region than the first light-emitting element. The second display region includes a portion overlapping with the second light-emitting element and a portion overlapping with the visible-light-transmitting region.

Display panel including first and second common electrodes

A novel display panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The display panel includes a display region, a first support, and a second support, the display region includes a first region, a second region, and a third region, the first region and the second region each have a belt-like shape extending in one direction, and the third region is sandwiched between the first region and the second region. The first support overlaps with the first region and is less likely to be warped than the third region, and the second support overlaps with the second region and is less likely to be warped than the third region. The second support can pivot on an axis extending in the one direction with respect to the first support.

Display panel and data processing device

A display device that can easily have high resolution is provided. A display device having both high display quality and high resolution is provided. A display device with high contrast is provided. A first EL film is deposited in contact with a top surface and a side surface of each of a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode each having a tapered shape. A first sacrificial film is formed to cover the first EL film. The first sacrificial film and the first EL film are etched to expose the second pixel electrode and form a first EL layer over the first pixel electrode and a first sacrificial layer over the first EL layer, and then, the first sacrificial layer is removed. The first EL film and the second EL film are etched by dry etching. The first sacrificial layer is removed by wet etching.

Manufacturing method of display device

A novel functional panel that is highly convenient, useful, or reliable is provided. The functional panel includes a base material and a pair of pixels, and the base material covers the pair of pixels and has a light-transmitting property. The pair of pixels includes one pixel and another pixel, and the one pixel includes a light-emitting device and a first microlens. The light-emitting device emits light toward the base material, and the first microlens is interposed between the base material and the light emission and converges light. The first microlens includes a first surface and a second surface; the second surface is closer to the light-emitting device than the first surface is; and the second surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the first surface. The other pixel includes a photoelectric conversion device and a second microlens. The second microlens is interposed between the base material and the photoelectric conversion and converges external light incident from the base material side. The second microlens includes a third surface and a fourth surface; the third surface is closer to the photoelectric conversion device than the fourth surface is; and the fourth surface has a smaller radius of curvature than the third surface.

A touch panel capable of performing display and sensing along a curved surface or a touch panel that maintains high detection sensitivity even when it is curved along a curved surface is provided. A flexible display panel is placed along a curved portion included in a surface of a support. A first film layer is attached along a surface of the display panel by a bonding layer. Second to n-th film layers (n is an integer of 2 or more) are sequentially attached along a surface of the first film layer by bonding layers. A flexible touch sensor is attached along a surface of the n-th film layer by a bonding layer.

Touch panel and method for manufacturing touch panel

When a base film used in a flexible display panel is bonded to a resin member for fixing the base film that is curved, the base film has creases by an environmental change such as temperature due to difference in linear expansion coefficient before and after a thermal shock. A buffer plate that is thin enough to be bent is provided between the base film used in a flexible display panel and the resin member. With the use of heat dissipation effect and heat equalization effect of the buffer plate, a structure around the panel capable of resisting the environmental change can be provided.

Display device and manufacturing method thereof

Display unevenness in a display panel is suppressed. A display panel with a high aperture ratio of a pixel is provided. The display panel includes a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, a third pixel electrode, a first light-emitting layer, a second light-emitting layer, a third light-emitting layer, a first common layer, a second common layer, a common electrode, and an auxiliary wiring. The first common layer is positioned over the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode. The first common layer has a portion overlapping with the first light-emitting layer and a portion overlapping with the second light-emitting layer. The second common layer is positioned over the third pixel electrode. The second common layer has a portion overlapping with the third light-emitting layer. The common electrode has a portion overlapping with the first pixel electrode with the first common layer and the first light-emitting layer provided therebetween, a portion overlapping with the second pixel electrode with the first common layer and the second light-emitting layer provided therebetween, a portion overlapping with the third pixel electrode with the second common layer and the third light-emitting layer provided therebetween, and a portion in contact with a top surface of the auxiliary wiring.
