An object of one embodiment of the present disclosure is to provide a product with a high added value to a user by preventing an unnatural character string from being combined, combination of no character string, and the like in a case where there is no voice or almost no voice before or after an image selected from within a moving image. One embodiment of the present disclosure is an image processing apparatus including: a selection unit configured to select, from a moving image including a plurality of frames, a part of the moving image; an extraction unit configured to extract a voice during a predetermined time corresponding to the selected part in the moving image; and a combination unit configured to combine a character string based on a voice extracted by the extraction unit, with the part of the moving image selected by the selection unit.

Disclosed are a color facsimile apparatus and method in which when transmission information is added onto an image and then transmitted with the image, memory can be conserved and transmit processing shortened. A color image is read and image data represented the read image is generated. The image is then compressed in the form of 'JPEG' and stored in memory. In the transmission of the image data that has been stored in memory, transmission information is added onto the image data before the image data is subjected to JPEG compression. When the image data is transmitted, therefore, processing for expanding the image and then recompressing the data can be eliminated.

There is provided a reading/recording apparatus which is miniaturized, by having a reading device and a recording device share a moving space on a shared conveying path used as both a conveying path for an original and a conveying path for a recording sheet, and which is capable of carrying out an error removal process such as a jam removal process in a manner discriminating whether an original or a recording sheet remains on the shared conveying path, without an original being damaged. There is provided a reading/recording apparatus which is capable of properly conveying originals during original reading operation, even if there exists a state where a recording medium conveying device shares the same space with an original conveying path. A shared conveying path has at least part thereof used as both a conveying path for an original and a conveying path for a recording medium. The original is conveyed on the shared conveying path, where an image of the original is read. The read image is recorded on the recording medium at a recording position on the shared conveying path. A recording medium conveying device is movable between a sharing state where the recording medium conveying device shares a space with the conveying path for the original and a non-sharing state where the recording medium conveying device does not share the space with the conveying path for the original, and conveys the recording medium on the shared conveying path. Conveyance of the original is stopped when the recording medium conveying device is detected to be in the sharing state during an original reading operation.
