A method of designing an internal structure of a foamed resin sound absorbing material includes: setting a microscopic structure model with a structure equivalent to the internal structure of the foamed resin sound absorbing material; calculating an acoustic characteristic by homogenization for each of a plurality of microscopic structure models, each being the microscopic structure model; identifying a relational expression between a Biot's parameter of the foamed resin sound absorbing material and the microscopic structure model; setting a target acoustic characteristic; identifying a Biot's parameter for achieving the target acoustic characteristic set, by Biot's modeling; and identifying a microscopic structure model corresponding to the Biot's parameter identified.

A heat-insulating layer exhibiting high resistance to cracks, peeling, deformation, and gasoline and high heat insulation is obtained on the wall surface of an engine member (). First, a heat insulator layer including a silicone-based resin and hollow particles containing a Si-based oxide is formed on a wall surface of the engine member (). Then, Si-based oxide is produced through oxidation of a silicone-based resin in at least part of the surface of the heat insulator layer by heating the surface of the heat insulator layer. Thereafter, a catalytic metal is added to the silicone-based resin in the surface of the heat insulator layer and/or Si-based oxide derived from the hollow particles. Using the catalytic metal as nuclei, electroless plating is performed. In this manner, a heat-insulating layer () in which the surface of the heat-insulating film () is covered with a plating film () is obtained.

In a process which is before a treatment process of forming a chemical conversion, TiOfine particles as an electron releasing-related substance (electron releasing substance) are attached onto a surface of a vehicle body. Then, a chemical conversion treatment is applied to the vehicle body having the TiOfine particles attached thereto. Thereby, an energy band gap of a finally-formed chemical conversion film can be smaller than that of a chemical conversion film formed by using only a chemical conversion treatment agent. Accordingly, the number of electrons (free electrons) which can be supplied onto the surface of a chemical conversion film can be increased during a voltage application in an electrodeposition coating process, and reducing reaction at a cathode can be promoted.
