An intelligent reflecting surface includes a substrate having a first surface including a first side and a reflective region including a plurality of reflective elements arranged on the first surface, a plurality of reflective elements separated from each other by a first interval and arranged at a first pitch in a first direction and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. Twice a distance from the first side to a first reflective element adjacent to the first side among the plurality of reflective elements is a sum of an integral multiple of the first pitch and the first interval.

The alignment film includes a first region overlapping the strip conductor layer and a second region overlapping the radiation conductor layer, and the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the first region is different from the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the second region.

Antenna device and phased array antenna device

The display device includes a liquid crystal panel having pixels, and an imaging device arranged on a backside of the liquid crystal display panel, wherein in an imaging area of the liquid crystal display panel overlapping the imaging device, the pixels are controlled so that black display pixels and white display pixels are alternately lined up in a row direction according to an operation of the imaging device.

Display device

In one embodiment, a display device comprises a dimming and display panels and an illumination device. The dimming panel includes first and second substrates and a first liquid crystal layer. The display panel includes third and fourth substrates and a second liquid crystal layer. The illumination device irradiates the dimming panel or the display panel with light. In the display device, at least one of the first, second, third and fourth substrates is a rigid substrate, and at least one of the first, second, third and fourth substrates is a flexible substrate.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealant, a liquid crystal layer, an organic insulating film, an alignment film and an inorganic insulating film. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The sealant attaches the first substrate and the second substrate to each other. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The organic insulating film, the alignment film and the inorganic insulating film are provided on the first substrate. The alignment film contacts the liquid crystal layer. The inorganic insulating film is located between the alignment film and the organic insulating film. At least part of the alignment film contacts the organic insulating film.

According to one embodiment, the organic insulating film and the alignment film are provided on the first substrate. The alignment film is located between the liquid crystal layer and the organic insulating film and contacts the liquid crystal layer. The organic insulating film has a restricting portion on an inner side from the sealant and on an outer side from the display area. The restricting portion includes a recess and a projection extending in predetermined directions. The alignment film is formed on the restricting portion.

According to one embodiment, the liquid crystal material processing device includes a syringe containing contents composed of a liquid crystal material and the like, having a distal end portion constituting a first discharge pipe, an agitation mechanism agitating the contents of the syringe, a vacuum chamber having a second discharge pipe penetrating the bottom to connect to the first discharge pipe of the syringe. The agitation mechanism agitates the liquid crystal material and the pure water in the syringe, and purifies the liquid crystal material by causing water-soluble impurities to transfer to the pure water. The agitation mechanism agitates the liquid crystal material remaining in the syringe after the water layer has been discharged. The evacuation mechanism evacuates the vacuum chamber and causes the liquid crystal material to be degassed while the remaining liquid crystal material is agitated.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealant, a liquid crystal layer, an organic insulating film, an alignment film and an inorganic insulating film. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The sealant attaches the first substrate and the second substrate to each other. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The organic insulating film, the alignment film and the inorganic insulating film are provided on the first substrate. The alignment film contacts the liquid crystal layer. The inorganic insulating film is located between the alignment film and the organic insulating film. At least pan of the alignment film contacts the organic insulating film.

A liquid crystal display device according to an aspect of the invention includes a display region having a plurality of sub pixels. The sub pixels each include a pixel electrode and a thin film transistor electrically coupled to the pixel electrode. A transient leak current of each thin film transistor included in the sub pixels at both ends of the display region among the sub pixels provided on a line passing through the center of the display region in plan view is smaller than a transient leak current of each thin film transistor included in the sub pixels in a central portion including the center.

Liquid crystal display device

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel which includes a pixel electrode, a liquid crystal layer and an alignment film, and a driver. The driver drives the pixel electrode at a drive frequency of 1 to 20 Hz. The alignment film has a resistivity of 5&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm or more.

When an intermittent driving mode is carried out in a TFT using LIPS and &#x3b1;-Si for a pixel transistor, a flicker easily occurs. A display device includes a TFT including a gate, a source, and a drain; a signal line connected to the source; a pixel capacitance connected to the drain; a first power supply configured to supply a potential that breaks electricity conducted between the source and the drain to the gate; and a switch configured to supply a potential of the first power supply to the gate. The display device includes a scan period and a dwell period. The switch is turned on in the scan period, and the switch is turned off in the dwell period.

A high-precision display device is capable of suppressing a leak current and operating at a low power consumption. The display device comprises a source power supply for providing a pixel electric potential to each pixel placed on a substrate through a first thin-film transistor; a gate power supply for controlling conductive and nonconductive states of the first thin-film transistor; and a second thin-film transistor disposed between the first thin-film transistor and the gate power supply, the second thin-film transistor being controllable independently of the first thin-film transistor.

According to one embodiment, a lateral electric-field type of liquid crystal display device includes a display panel and a controller, wherein a frame frequency falls within a range of 1 Hz to 10 Hz, an off-leak current of each of the TFTs has a value of 1&#xd7;10A or less, a resistivity of a liquid crystal and a resistivity of an alignment film both fall within one of a first range and a second range, the first range being 1&#xd7;10to 5&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm, the second range being 5&#xd7;10to 5&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm, and a relationship of 'R1&#xd7; C1&#x2248;R2&#xd7;C2' is satisfied, where R1 is a resistance and C1 is a capacity with respect to each pixel, R2 is a resistance and C2 is a capacity with respect to each pixel.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel including a gate line, source lines, and switching elements connected to the gate line and the respective source lines. A gate driver selects the gate line. A source driver supplies an image signal to the source lines. The image signals can be supplied to pixel electrodes through the switching elements. A frame period includes a first scan period in which the gate line is selected, a first hold period subsequent to the first scan period, a second scan period in which the gate line is selected subsequent to the first hold period, and a second hold period subsequent to the second scan period. The first hold period is longer than the second hold period.
