A method for manufacturing a sealing device to improve the positioning accuracy of a parting operation while also improving manufacturing efficiency. The method includes molding an elastomeric cylindrical molded body () with a plurality of cylindrical surface portions () and a plurality of annular outer peripheral convex portions () arranged alternately on an outer peripheral side thereof, and further provided with a plurality of cylindrical surface portions and a plurality of annular inner peripheral convex portions arranged alternately on an inner peripheral side thereof. The cylindrical surface portions on the outer peripheral side and the cylindrical surface portions on the inner peripheral side, as well as the outer peripheral convex portions and the inner peripheral convex portions are provided so as to be at the same positions in the axial direction.

This invention provides a mold for a gasket, which can render the planar shape of a mold for integral molding of a large-diameter gasket as small as possible to reduce the size of the manufacturing equipment and, at the same time, by virtue of integral molding, does not require labor and time in the manufacture thereof and does not cause a lack of strength in the connecting part. To this end, a mold () for molding an endless-type gasket comprises a plurality of molding parts (), formed by disposing two molding grooves (), in a spiral wound form, in parallel so as to be adjacent to each other. The spiral wound molding grooves () have reversing parts () in their respective inner ends (), and, at the same time, their outer ends () are connected to each other in a rope form.

A sealing structure in which sealing is made by a seal ring installed in a dovetail groove where only an inner surface on one side of the groove is an inclined surface. In the sealing structure, the seal ring is less likely to come out of the dovetail groove, resistance of insertion of the seal ring into the dovetail is small, and particles are less likely to occur in the structure. The seal ring is formed of a rubber-like elastic material and is installed in the dovetail groove where the first inner surface on one side of the groove is inclined falling to the inside of the groove.

To make a plasma resistant seal excellent in both a plasma resisting performance and a sealing performance, and prevent an O-ring from protruding to a vacuum side gap, a plasma seal () made of PTFE having a plasma resisting performance is provided in a plasma irradiating side of an O-ring () as a main seal made of a rubber-like elastic material, an installation groove () shallower than a depth of an installation groove () provided in an installation member () is continuously provided in a plasma irradiation side of the installation groove (), the O-ring () is attached to the installation groove (), and the plasma seal () is attached to the installation groove () in a compressed state, or the O-ring is attached to the installation groove and the plasma seal is attached to the plasma irradiation side of the same installation groove () in a compressed state.
