The power supply device is provided with: a battery pack that comprises a plurality of battery units each of which includes a battery, a first terminal and a second terminal; a capacitor connected in parallel with the battery pack; and a current adjusting circuit that includes a load and a switching device for controlling a current to the load and adjusts a current from the capacitor to the battery pack. When a battery that has reached an upper limit voltage is detected during charging the battery pack, between control for closing a first path that connects the first terminal to the positive side of the battery and control for opening a second path that connects the first terminal to the second terminal and negative side of the battery, the power supply device causes the current to flow to the load to adjust the current flowing to the battery pack.

Power supply device and battery pack charging method

The power conversion device includes common DC buses, AC buses, DC connection terminals, AC connection terminals, N pairs of distributed power supply connection terminals, N DC/DC converters for transferring power between the common DC buses and the distributed power supply connection terminals, M DC/AC converters for transferring power between the AC buses and the common DC buses, and a control unit for controlling each converter on the basis of a high-order control command. The DC connection terminals are connected to the common DC buses and connected to an external DC power distribution grid, the AC connection terminals are connected to the AC buses and connected to an external AC power distribution grid, and the distributed power supply connection terminals are connected to the DC/DC converters and connected to external DC distributed power supplies.

The method includes: storing a map representing a correspondence relationship between the voltage change rate and the state of charge at a plurality of charging/discharging rates; obtaining a candidate for a present state of charge from an actually measured voltage change rate, by referring to the map; and obtaining the present state of charge through a comparison between the candidate for the state of charge obtained during the charging and the candidate for the state of charge obtained during the discharging.

In a power supply system using various kinds of storage batteries such as a large capacity storage battery or a small capacity storage battery, an electric power path is complicated, which may increase failures such as a short circuit trouble. There is a problem in that, when a short circuit trouble between storage batteries occurs, damage to a smaller capacity storage battery is serious. Accordingly, in a power supply system according to the present invention, the relationship among voltages, current capacities, and electric power capacities of various kinds of storage batteries such as a large capacity storage battery or a small capacity storage battery is defined so that damage to the storage batteries may be minimized even when malfunction occurs in, for example, switching a switch, and energy transfers from a higher voltage storage device.

The method manufactures an electric double-layer capacitor electrode, and includes: forming a plurality of grooves that run in one direction in each of a front surface and rear surface of a collector foil; subsequently providing an electrode layer that includes plural electrode particles on each of the front surface and rear surface of the collector foil; and subsequently pressing the electrode layer toward the collector foil to move the plurality of electrode particles along the plurality of grooves until the plural electrode particles dig into the plurality of grooves.
