A twin screw extruder () for producing a fiber-reinforced resin composition, which is obtained by charging the extruder with a thermoplastic resin and reinforcing fibers in roving form and the reinforcing fibers being fibrillated/cut and being dispersed/kneaded into the thermoplastic resin, comprises: a plate-shaped blade (), which protrudes from the inner surface of a cylinder () and faces a screw () and the longitudinal direction of which faces the axial direction of the cylinder; and a height adjustment means () for adjusting the gap between the blade () and the screw ().

Cutting device and method for operating same

[Problem] To provide an injection apparatus including a flow path switching mechanism that is simple in construction and low in cost. [Solution] An injection apparatus () includes a plasticization device () for melting resin, a first and second plunger injection devices () for measuring an amount of resin and injecting the resin, an injecting portion (), and a flow path switching block () that connects the plasticization device, the first and second plunger injection devices and the injecting portion together. A first to fourth connecting flow paths () and a flow path switching valve () are provided in the flow path switching block (). The plasticization device (), the first plunger injection device (), the injecting portion () and the second plunger injection device () are connected to the first to fourth connecting flow paths (), respectively. When the flow path switching valve () is switched to a first position, the first and second connecting flow paths () communicate with each other, and the third and fourth connecting flow paths () communicate with each other, whereas when the flow path switching valve () is switched to a second position, the first and fourth connecting flow paths () communicate with each other and the first and third connecting flow paths () communicate with each other.

An extruder () includes a cylinder () and a screw (), and one or more front vents () are provided on the cylinder () upstream of a hopper () and downstream of a rear vent (). The cylinder () is provided with, between the hopper () and the rear vent (), a liquid supply device () for spraying water into the cylinder () to cool an interior thereof and a liquid discharge port () that is opened in a lower portion of the cylinder ().

A twin screw extruder () according to the present invention is a twin screw extruder (), in which a reinforcing fiber is fed through an input port () into a molten thermoplastic resin having been formed in a resin feed part () and the reinforcing fiber and the molten thermoplastic resin pass through a kneading part () so that a fiber-reinforced resin composition is manufactured, wherein the kneading part () is provided at the discharge-side end part of the extruder (); a conveying part () is provided between the input port () and the kneading part (), and tip clearance (Sc) of a screw element () configuring the conveying part () is larger than screw clearance (Ss).
