Occurrence of contact point slide due to vibration is suppressed in a movable connector that has a floating function from a technical approach that is different from the related art. A movable connector includes a displacement support member that includes a flexible support portion that is elastically deformable in a fitting direction, in which a mating connector is to be fitted with a movable housing, with the flexible support portion abutting against the movable housing. The movable housing includes a bottom wall, against which the mating connector abuts in the fitting direction. The movable housing is displaced in the fitting direction with the flexible support portion elastically deformed in the fitting direction when the mating connector presses the bottom wall in the fitting direction.

Movable connector

There is provided a movable connector that facilitates easy engagement and improves stability in electrical connection. The movable connector includes a manipulation housing that is coupled to a movable housing by a pressing operation of the manipulation housing against the movable housing. The movable connector also includes a contact reinforcing member that moves together with the manipulation housing by the pressing operation. The contact reinforcing member comes into contact with a pair of contact portions of a circuit-board connection terminal and thereby presses the contact portions against a pin terminal.

In a connector, a terminal has a pair of contact portions that are fixed to a housing and disposed so as to provide a stable and reliable electrical connection. In the connector, a movable housing has a first contact portion fixation groove that supports a first contact portion of the terminal and a second contact portion fixation groove that supports a second contact portion. The terminal has a link portion that can join the first contact portion and the second contact portion to each other so as to be able to adjust the clearance therebetween. The link portion can absorb a variation in the clearance between the first contact portion fixation groove and the second contact portion fixation groove and a variation in the clearance between the first contact portion and the second contact portion.

Connector to provide reliable electrical connection

There is provided a movable connector that more reliably suppresses pivotal motion of a connection target object at a contact section serving as the center of the pivotal motion. Further, reliable suppression of the pivotal motion of the connection target object at the contact section is achieved with no increase in the size of terminals. A contact section includes a first contact piece section having a first contact section that achieves pressing contact with a pin terminal T in a first direction, a second contact piece section having a second contact section that achieves pressing contact with the pin terminal T in the first direction in a position shifted from the first contact section toward the far side, and a contact receiving section that faces the first and second contact sections and has a contact surface section that comes into contact with the pin terminal T over the length thereof.

Terminal structure that supports movement between two housings

In a small connector including a plurality of contact portions in an insertion direction of an object to be connected, increasing the effective fitting length with the object and eliminating the risk of bucking of a terminal caused by the object being caught by the terminal. A first contact portion and a second contact portion can be extended in directions opposing each other with a first bent-back portion of a first terminal piece and a third bent-back portion of a second terminal piece, and can be close to each other compared with a known connector in which a first contact portion and a second contact portion extend in opposite directions. An effective fitting length of the first contact portion or the second contact portion with respect to the plug terminal can be increased.

Terminal of electrical connector having spring durability

To prevent damage from being caused in a movable piece caused by inclination of the movable housing of a floating connector. Providing an inclined piece portion in a movable piece of a plug terminal of a plug connector from a middle side to an outer edge side of a bottom wall portion of a movable housing, the inclined piece portion obliquely extending so as to gradually be distanced away form a substrate. Since the inclined piece portion is distanced away from the substrate by the amount of inclination of the inclined piece portion when the movable housing is inclined, a risk of the movable piece impinging against the substrate can be reduced.

A multi-contact connector includes terminals, which each include a first contact piece section, which has a first contact section, which achieves pressing contact with a pin terminal in a first direction, and a first elastic arm, which extends in a direction that intersects the first direction and displaceably supports the first contact section, and a second contact piece section, which has a second contact section, which achieves pressing contact with the pin terminal in the first direction, and a second elastic arm, which displaceably supports the second contact section. The second elastic arm extends in the first direction, which intersects the direction in which the first elastic arm extends, and an end portion of the second elastic arm or the end portion in the extending direction, that is, the front end facing the first elastic arm is formed as a spring piece linked to the second contact section.

Multi-contact connector

A movable connector with which an insertion force of a connection object that places a load on a solder portion can be reduced, that has a floating function, and that can be reduced in size is provided. As a result of a pushing operation in which an operation housing is pushed into a fixed housing, a relay terminal is conductively connected to a substrate connection terminal, which is in conductive contact with a substrate, and a pin terminal, which is disposed in a movable housing and serves as the connection object, in the movable housing. Accordingly, the overall size of the movable connector can be reduced. In addition, the insertion force applied to the pin terminal is not applied to the solder portion by which the movable connector is fixed to the substrate, so that conduction failure does not occur.

Connection reliability of terminals in a movable connector is enhanced. The movable connector includes a fixed housing having an abutment receiving portion and a movable housing having an abutment portion. When a pin terminal is fitted and inserted, the abutment portion abuts on the abutment receiving portion. This prevents arcuate curved deformation of the movable housing, and restricts a movable piece of a terminal at a center portion of the movable housing from being slightly stretched from the beginning of fitting and from constantly receiving load.
