Some embodiments provide an integrated circuit ('IC'). The IC includes multiple configurable circuits that configurably perform operations of a user design based on configuration data. The IC also includes a configurable trigger circuit that receives a set of configuration data that specifies an operational event. The configurable trigger circuit also determines whether the operational event has occurred during implementation of the user design of the IC. Additionally, the operational trigger event outputs a trigger signal upon determining that the operational trigger event has occurred.

A high speed transceiver operable to receive lower data rate transmissions includes an oversampling module and a data recovery system. The oversampling module is operably coupled to oversample a unique alignment sequence and data of a data stream received at a first data transmission to produce an oversampled unique alignment sequence and oversampled data, respectively, wherein the first data transmission rate is less than a serial bit rate of the high speed transceiver. The data recovery system is operably coupled to: compare a portion of the oversampled unique alignment sequence with an expected oversampled partial alignment sequence; when the comparing the portion of the oversampled unique alignment sequence with the expected oversampled partial alignment sequence is favorable, determine one of a plurality of word alignments for the data stream based on the portion of the oversampled unique alignment sequence; and recover aligned data at the first data transmission rate from the oversampled data based on the one of the plurality of word alignments.

High speed transceiver operable to receive lower data rate transmissions

A high speed transceiver operable to receive lower data rate transmissions includes an oversampling module, an aligning module, a selecting module, and a memory module. The oversampling module is operably coupled to oversample an n-bit data word at an oversampling rate of m to produce an m by n bit oversampled data word, wherein the n-bit data word is received at a first data transmission rate that is less than a serial bit rate of the high speed transceiver. The transition boundary module is operably coupled to determine transition boundary data of the m by n bit oversampled data word in accordance with a clock of the high speed transceiver to produce transition boundary data. The selecting module is operably coupled to select representative bits in accordance with the transition boundary data to produce a recovered data word. The memory module is operably coupled to store the recovered data word.
