A wide angle optical lens, an optical lens unit, and an imaging device are small-sized and can secure an attachment space even when space is limited, and can avoid adhesion peeling or the extrusion of an adhesive. Optical lens () has a lens frame receiving surface () on the side of first optical surface (S) having a smaller optical surface diameter than second optical surface (S), and is further provided with an adhesion space forming surface () on the surrounding side of the lens frame receiving surface (). Therefore, it is possible to suppress adhesion peeling even when a smaller size is requested. Furthermore, by securing a larger size for lens frame receiving surface (), it is possible to suppress leakage or extrusion of adhesive from lens frame receiving surface () and thus adherence to first optical surface (S).

A small, high-performance image pickup lens unit having an IR cut filter that can be incorporated reliably therein while avoiding an increase in processing complexity. A sealing portionis disposed between a lensand an IR cut filterin order to seal an internal space IS sandwiched between the lensand the IR cut filter, and therefore a holdercan be molded integrally with the lensand the IR cut filterincorporated therein while preventing liquid resin MP from flowing in between the lensand the IR cut filter. By molding the holderintegrally with the lensand the IR cut filterincorporated therein in this manner, an image pickup lens unitcan be reduced in size, and reductions in the number of components and the number of assembly man-hours can be achieved.

Since the lens () includes the alignment portions (), the lens () is positioned with high precision with respect to the second mold () during molding of the holder member (), and the holder member () and the lens () are positioned with each other with high precision. Further, since the positioning of the lens () with respect to the second mold () may be performed using the alignment portions () provided outside the second optical surface (), influence of the heat and pressure produced by the second mold () and the resin during molding of the holder member () on the second optical surface () of the lens () may be reduced. Therefore, occurrence of degradation, such as distortion, in the second optical surface () of the lens () during molding of the holder member () may be prevented.
