A biocide composition, comprising 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one as a biocidal active ingredient and at least one further biocidal active ingredient, as an additive to materials capable of being attacked by harmful microorganisms, wherein the composition comprises a pyrithione as the further biocidal active ingredient.

Synergistic biocide composition comprising 2-methylisothiazoline-3-one

The invention relates to a coating material for protection against microorganism invasion on surfaces which are exposed to the effects of damp or water. The coating material has either a pH-value of at least 11.0 or is provide with a base material for the coating whereby the pH-value is at least 11. The coating material is characterized in that it contains a biocide which bonds to solid particles in a carrier material and is released in a delayed manner therefrom.

The invention relates to a biocidal composition which can be added to materials which can be attacked by harmful micro-organisms, containing pyrithione as a biocidal active ingredient. The biocidal composition is characterised in that it contains 2-alkyl isothiazoline-3-one as another biocidally active ingredient. The active ingredients of the biocidal composition behave synergistically and are ideally suitable for controlling bacteria, fungus and algae.

Synergistic biocidal composition

A biocide composition is provided as an addition to substances that can be infected by harmful microorganisms, in which the biocide composition has at least two active biocidal substances, one of which is 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one. The composition is characterized in that it contains 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one, compositions containing 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazolin-3-one being excluded. In comparison with its individual components, the composition of the invention has a synergistic biocidal activity.
