An optical microphone assembly comprises a rigid substrate; an interferometric arrangement, a light source, at least one photo detector and an enclosure. The interferometric arrangement comprises a membrane and at least one optical element spaced from the membrane, wherein the at least one optical element comprises a surface of the substrate and/or is disposed on a surface of the substrate. The light source is arranged to provide light to the interferometric arrangement such that a first portion of the light propagates along a first optical path via the interferometric arrangement and a second portion of the light propagates along a second different optical path via the interferometric arrangement, thereby giving rise to an optical path difference between the first and second optical paths which depends on a distance between the membrane and the optical element. The photo detector(s) are arranged to detect at least part of an interference pattern generated by said first and second portions of light dependent on said optical path difference. The enclosure is arranged to form an acoustic cavity in fluid communication with one side of the membrane. The volume of the acoustic cavity is at least 3 mm multiplied by d, where d is a diameter of the membrane.

Optical microphone assembly

The present invention relates to a displacement sensor device and the system including the device, wherein the device comprises a first at least partially transparent plane surface with a first diffraction pattern and a second plane surface comprising a second reflecting diffraction pattern. The diffractive patterns being adapted to diffract light within a chosen range of wavelengths, the second surface being positioned below and parallel to the first surface constituting a pair wherein said first and second diffractive patterns being essentially equal, the device also comprising displacement means for allowing a movement in a direction parallel to said surfaces, the device thus providing a movement sensitive diffraction pattern.

A system and associated method for monitoring pressure of water at a sub-surface water location. The system includes a chamber, enclosing a fluid, and a fluid line. The system includes a differential pressure sensor with first and second fluid pressure inputs connected to the chamber and the fluid line, respectively. The system includes a first valve configured to have a first position in which the chamber is in fluid communication with the fluid line through the first valve and configured to have a second position in which the chamber is blocked from fluid communication with the line. The system includes a second valve configured to have a first position in which the fluid line is blocked from fluid communication with the water at the sub-surface location and is configured to have a second position in which the line is in fluid communication with the water through the second valve.

The invention relates to an optical element having adjustable focal length, and a method for producing an optical element. The optical element comprising a first transparent layer and a transparent soft polymer having a chosen refractive index situated thereon, said layer being made from a material having a chosen flexibility, e.g. a thin glass layer, the optical element also being provided with an actuator for applying a force upon said flexible layer, said force being essentially symmetric relative to said axis thus bending the layer providing a lens surface and providing a curved refractive surface.

A sealed infrared radiation source includes an emitter membrane stimulated by an electrical current conducted through the membrane, which acts like an electrical conductor, wherein the membrane is mounted between first and second housing parts, at least one being transparent in the IR range, each housing part defining a cavity between the membrane and the respective housing part of each side of the membrane. The housing parts are at least partially electrical conductive, and a first of the housing parts is electrically coupled to a first end of the electrical conductor and insulated from the second end of the electrical conductor, the second housing part being electrically coupled to a second end of the electrical conductor and being insulated from the first end of the electrical conductor, thus allowing a current applied from the first housing part to the second housing part to pass through and heat the membrane.
