An inlet device () for a separator () for separating a fluid mixture including gas and liquid. The inlet device () includes an inlet nozzle () for the fluid mixture, a distribution chamber () connected to the inlet nozzle for distributing the fluid mixture to one or more axial cyclones () constituting an integral part of the inlet device () and being connected to the distribution chamber (). The axial cyclones () are provided with an outlet opening () for the gas rich fluid stream, a swirl inducing element (), one or more openings () to allow the liquid-rich stream exiting the openings () of the axial cyclones () as well as liquid separating from a gas-rich stream exiting the outlet opening () to be drained to a level below the inlet device ().

Inlet device for gravity separator

An inlet device () for a gravity separator () for separating a fluid mixture including gas and liquid. The inlet device () includes an inlet nozzle () for the fluid mixture, a distribution chamber () connected to the inlet nozzle for distributing the fluid mixture to one or more axial cyclones () constituting an integral part of the inlet device () and being connected to the distribution chamber (). The axial cyclones () are provided with a bottom inlet opening, a top outlet opening () for the gas rich fluid stream, a swirl inducing element (), one or more openings () to allow liquid to leave the axial cyclones (), and to be drained to a level below the inlet device ().

Axial flow demisting cyclone for separation of material compositions of gas, liquid and particulate solids comprising an inlet conduit () for the material composition and an outlet conduit () for the substantially dry and clean gas, and a swirl facilitating device () that sets the entering material composition in rotation. The cyclons comprises a mainly cylindrical tube () which is provided with slots or perforations () to allow parts of the material composition, hereunder liquids and particulate solids to flow out from the cyclone tube () and into a substantially closed chamber () which is delimited by an inlet plate (), by an outlet plate () ad by a circumferential plate (). The chamber () has a deposition surface () which is geodetically the lower, inner surface of the chamber () ad which has an inclination relative to the horizontal plane so that particulate solids will not accumulate on the deposition surface but slide to one or more drainage outlets () in the deposition surface () arranged to convey liquids and particulate solids out from the substantially closed chamber () into a drainage pipe the lower end of which is positioned under the liquid surface of the separator liquid compartment.

Vane diffuser for use in separators for separating a liquid phase and/or a particulate material from a gas flow, includes a distribution chamber that communicates with the inlet pipe stub of the separator. A top plate, a bottom plate, and a plurality of curved, parallel vanes together delimit a plurality of diffuser channels. Each of the vanes has a thickness which varies in the flow direction to ensure an even expansion of the cross-sectional area of the diffuser channels, thereby reducing reverse flow along the suction side of the vanes, as occurs with vanes of uniform thickness.
