There is provided a dishwasher. The dishwasher includes a tub for receiving dishes, a steam generation unit provided at an outside of the tub and generating steam that will be supplied to the tub, a steam passage along which the steam generated from the steam generation unit is supplied to the tub, and a chamber for storing water used for generating the steam.

A dish washer includes a steam generating unit that is configured to control the amount of steam in accordance with the amount of items in the dish washer. The steam generating unit is positioned outside of the tub and is configured to generate and supply steam to the tub. The dishwasher includes a fluid supplying passage that supplies washing fluid to the steam generating unit. A steam discharging passage is configured to discharge steam that is generated from the steam generating unit to the tub.

The present invention relates to dishwashers, and more particularly, to a dishwasher and a method for controlling the same, which can measure turbidity of the washing water, and control operation of the dishwasher with reference to the turbidity detected thus, to prevent wasting of water, and optimize a washing time period. The dishwasher includes a sump for holding washing water, a washing pump for pumping the washing water to provide a portion of the washing water to dishes to be washed through a main flow passage, and a turbidity sensing means for sensing turbidity of the washing water, wherein the turbidity sensing means is positioned at a sampling flow passage through which the other portion of the washing water passes. The method for controlling a dishwasher includes the steps of putting a washing pump into operation, detecting turbidity of the washing water, adjusting a washing time period preset at a control unit according to the turbidity detected thus, and operating the washing pump according to the washing time period adjusted thus.

Dishwasher and a method for controlling the same

A dishwasher includes a sump for receiving washing water, a washing pump for pumping the washing water from the sump, a drain chamber for receiving the pumped washing water, and a filtering unit disposed above the drain chamber. The filtering unit includes a contaminated water for receiving and filtering the washing water that has passed through the drain chamber.

The present invention relates to a dishwasher. The present invention provides a sump assembly of a dishwasher, by which water can be purified. The present invention includes a sump housing storing water therein, a pump coupled with the sump housing to pump the water, a guide assembly provided within the sump housing to guide the pumped water to a sprayer, and a drain chamber configured to filter contaminant from the water drained from the guide assembly.

Device for controlling a washing water flow passage in a dish water for controlling the washing water supplied to arms for spraying washing water to dishes. The device for controlling a washing water flow passage includes an inlet tube, first, second, third, and fourth tubes, first and second outlet tubes, a ball, a ball seat, and a valve. The first tube is extended upward from the inlet tube, and the second tube is extended slanted upward from the inlet tube. The third tube is extended upward vertically from a top of the second tube, and the fourth tube is connected between the first tube and the third tube in a downward slanted direction. The first outlet tube is formed on a top of a part where the first tube and the fourth tube are joined, and the second outlet tube is formed on a top of the third tube. The ball seat is provided to an inside of the inlet tube, and the valve is provided to one side of the first tube for blocking pass of the ball. The ball controls the flow passage of the washing water supplied to arms that sprays the washing water as the ball moves in the first, second, third, or fourth tube by a washing water pressure and gravity and opens/closes the first or second outlet tube selectively.

Dish washer and device for controlling washing water flow passage therein

Disclosed is a dishwasher including, a circulating pump for pressing and then supplying wash liquid, an injection arm for permitting the wash liquid pressed and supplied from the circulating pump to be injected by a predetermined passage structure, an underdrain container for collecting the wash liquid injected from the injection arm and supplying the collected wash liquid to the circulating pump, during a washing stage, a soil collecting chamber having a micro filter with a fine mesh for ramifying and finely filtering the wash liquid supplied from the circulating pump and returning the same to the underdrain container, during the washing stage, a drain pump for allowing the wash liquid to be drained through a drain passage which is extended from the underdrain container, and through a connecting passage which is extended from the soil collecting chamber and connected to the drain passage, during a draining stage. The present invention has advantages of preventing pollution of newly supplied wash liquid from being aggravated, since foreign materials filtered by the micro filter in the washing stage is smoothly discharged in the draining stage, and removing troublesome process of additionally removing the foreign materials after dish washing, since the micro filter is self-purified, thereby improving efficiency in washing and convenience in use.
