Disclosed is a method of creating a color-mapping lookup table and a color-mapping method using the same. The method of creating a color-mapping lookup table includes; obtaining color-space data for respective solid colors specified as lattice points of the color-mapping lookup table, obtaining color-space data for respective achromatic colors specified as lattice points of the color-mapping lookup table, and tabulating the color-space data for the respective solid colors specified as the lattice points and the color-space for the respective achromatic colors specified as the lattice points. Therefore, the methods can create a color-mapping LUT in which significant colors such as solid colors or achromatic colors are specified as lattice points, so that significant colors are more optimally reproduced since device data for the significant colors are not calculated through interpolation.

Method of creating color-mapping lookup table and color-mapping method using the same

Provided is a method for finding a minimal signed digit with variable multi-bit coding. The method includes the steps of: scanning and grouping given multi-bit and checking the type of each group; deciding whether each group is to be performed by any one of a coding for positive number and a coding of negative number depending on the type of each group; converting the value of each group into a corresponding value of different number system and finding a signed digit based on the converted value; if the type of each group indicates the coding for negative number, performing bitwise inverting on the value of each group; and converting multi-bit subjected to the bitwise inverting into a corresponding value of different number system, and finding a signed digit based on the converted value.

An apparatus and method for converting color data are provided. The method includes generating a CMYK color gamut extended from a CMY color gamut that consists of a cyan (C) colorant, a magenta (M) colorant, and a yellow (Y) colorant, by use of the CMY color gamut and a black (K) colorant; mapping input colors using the generated CMYK color gamut; converting color data of the mapped input colors to CMY data; and converting the CMY data to CMYK data. A color data conversion apparatus and method. The color data conversion apparatus includes a K ratio calculator for outputting a K ratio that is calculated using entered color data; a K ratio adjuster for adjusting the calculated K ratio, which is output from the K ratio calculator, in reference to gamut boundary descriptors (GBDs) corresponding to a K ratio and outputting the adjusted K ratio as a final K ratio; and a CMY ratio calculator for calculating C, M, and Y ratios based on the final K ratio. When converting the entered color data to the CMYK data, the calculated K ratio can be adjusted to the K ratio printable by use of the K GBDs. Accordingly, the printing apparatus can substantially print according to the calculated K ratio and thus the degradation of the printing quality can be avoided.

A gamut mapping apparatus of the invention includes a gamut analyzing unit for analyzing the gamut of a source device and the gamut of a target device using a gamut information profile; a gamut compressing unit for mapping original images of the source device within the gamut of the target device by using the analytical information on the gamuts; and a gamut extending unit for increasing the chroma of predetermined images among the compressed original images on the basis of the analytical information on the gamuts and the performance result of the gamut compressing unit.

A technique for controlling synchronous and asynchronous devices connected to an inter-integrated circuit bus (I C bus) is designed such that, in a system using an inter-integrated circuit bus (I C bus), the controlling system includes a central processing unit (CPU), a system memory and a shared memory, each of which is connected to the system bus. The shared memory saves information about a variety of devices, which are connected to the I C bus.
