The present invention relates to a portable digital reader for urinalysis. The portable digital reader for reading an analysis target chip including a plurality of test areas, comprises: a main body including a light emitting section having light emitting elements for radiating light, an integral optical splitter for uniformly distributing the light from the light emitting section to each test area of the analysis target chip, a light receiving section for receiving light reflected from the each test area so as to convert the same to electric signals, and a measuring section for measuring concentration according to the electric signals obtained from the light receiving section; a main supporting body having the analysis target chip and assembled with the main body; and an auxiliary supporting body assembled between the analysis target chip and the main supporting body, including a groove for assembling the analysis target chip, and assembled with the main supporting body to be exchanged after use. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the reader from being contaminated with superfluous urine by forming a portion contacting a strip chip to be exchangeable and disposing a moisture absorption material to a portion for introducing the strip chip.

Femtosecond laser apparatus and femtosecond laser system including the same

In the present invention, a nanoporous membrane having a columnar structure is manufactured through a deposition technology used in a semiconductor process, and the size of a nanopore is adjusted by etching the lower surface of the manufactured nanoporous membrane or using a seed layer and a nanobead layer so that scaling up is available at a lowered process temperature and the size of the nanopore can be easily adjusted when manufacturing the nanoporous membrane having a columnar structure.

There is provided a magnetic microvalve using a metal ball and a method of manufacturing the same. A magnetic microvalve using a metal ball according to an aspect of the invention may include: an upper substrate having a microchannel serving as a passage through which a fluid moves, a fluid inlet through which the fluid flows into the microchannel, and a fluid outlet through which the fluid, having passed through the microchannel, flows out of the microchannel; a lower substrate having a trench locally provided therein; a PDMS/metal ball combination having a metal ball and PDMS surrounding the metal ball so that the metal ball is located in a central portion thereof, the PDMS/metal ball combination being inserted into the trench provided in the lower substrate; and a magnet located above the microchannel, provided in the upper substrate, and generating magnetic force.

Magnetic microvalve using metal ball and method of manufacturing the same

Disclosed is a laser apparatus of amplifying a laser pulse output using an anisotropic laser crystal through chirped pulse amplification. The laser apparatus includes a laser resonator. The laser resonator includes a plurality of anisotropic laser crystals, generates a shorter femtosecond pulse by widening a spectrum bandwidth through a combination of different gain spectrum distributions using the anisotropic laser crystals, and allows a laser beam to travel in axial directions with different thermal characteristics of the anisotropic layer crystals in order to reduce a thermal effect.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a hollow microneedle structure. The method includes coating a hollow core having a predetermined section and being long in a lengthwise direction with a coating solution, and solidifying the coating solution to form a coating layer, depositing a metal seed layer on the coating layer, plating the seed metal layer with a metal to form a plated layer, cutting the hollow core having the plated layer at an inclination angle with respect to the lengthwise direction for form a surface inclination, and removing the hollow core and the coating layer to form a hollow microneedle structure. Thus, the hollow microneedle structure can be manufactured to have such diameter, length, hardness, and inclination angle as to minimize pain. By use of the hollow core, the microneedle structure can have vertical microneedles with a uniform inner diameter.

Method of manufacturing hollow microneedle structures

Provided is a method of manufacturing a hollow microneedle structure. The method includes forming an injection mold having a through hole, filling the injection mold with a photoresist formed of a viscous material, and extruding the photoresist from the injection mold through the through hole, solidifying the extruded photoresist to form a needle-type photoresist structure, forming a seed layer on the surface of the photoresist structure, forming a metal plated layer on the seed layer, inclining an end tip of the photoresist structure having the metal plated layer, and removing the photoresist from the metal plated layer to form a hollow. Thus, the hollow microneedle structure can be manufactured to have such diameter, length, hardness, and inclination angle as to minimize pain. The hollow microneedle structure can be combined with an apparatus for detecting a biomaterial or injecting cosmetic substances or medicines, and variously applied.

Provided is a disposable multi-layered filtration device for the separation of blood plasma which can be applied to a biochip and appropriate for disposal uses. The filtration device for the separation of blood plasma includes: an upper substrate including a blood inlet; an intermediate substrate including a filtering unit for extracting blood plasma from blood flowing through the blood inlet; and a lower substrate including an air outlet, wherein the upper substrate, the intermediate substrate, and the lower substrate are stacked and adhered.

Disposable multi-layered filtration device for the separation of blood plasma

Provided are mixed ligand metal nanoparticle chemical sensors in which metal nanoparticles are encapsulated by at least two kinds of different molecule ligands having a relatively low conductivity and various composition ratios, and a chemical sensor array in which a film of the metal nanoparticle sensor is formed on the substrate. The metal nanoparticle sensor using the mixed ligand improves sensitivity and reaction speed with respect to an analyte, and selectivity with respect to various analytes, and a kind and a composition of a ligand of the mixed ligand constituting the metal nanoparticle sensor are adjusted to allow the high sensitivity nanoparticle sensor to be applied to the sensor array technology, thereby enabling a design of sensor properties as well as systematic access to a configuration of the sensor array the most efficient for the analytes.

Provided is a micro-fluidic heating system, which comprises a micro-fluidic control element for providing a chamber, a flow path and a valve, and a main body for heating the inside of the chamber in contact with the micro-fluidic control element, wherein the micro-fluidic control element consists of an upper substrate for providing the chamber, the flow path and the valve, and a lower substrate as a thin film bonded to the upper substrate, and the main body consists of a membrane in which heating means and suction holes are formed, and support member for supporting the membrane, and the heating means is partially in contact with the lower substrate of the chamber to heat the inside of the chamber, so that thermal transfer efficiency becomes maximized and temperature of each chamber may be independently controlled in the case of configuration having chambers arranged in array.

Micro-fluidic heating system

Provided are a plastic microfabricated structure, and a microfabricated thermal device, a microfabricated reactor, a microfabricated reactor array and a micro array using the same, which may be applied to a bio chip, and the present invention may fabricate the plastic microfabricated structure for providing a heating region by means of insulating plastic, which has a thin thickness, flatness enough to allow a photolithography process to be performed, thermal isolation in its some or total area, and a small thermal mass, and on top of the heating region of the plastic microfabricated structure, a heater, a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature, an electrode, and an electrode pad are formed to thereby fabricate the microfabricated heating device, whereby element may be readily fabricated at a low cost, and the heating region is formed of a plastic thin layer, so that uniform temperature control is possible even with a low power, and various samples may be thermally treated at a fast speed to obtain their reaction and analysis.

Plastic microfabricated structure for biochip, microfabricated thermal device, microfabricated reactor, microfabricated reactor array, and micro array using the same

Provided is a microfluidic control device and method for controlling the microfluid, and a fine amount of fluid is controlled even with natural fluid flow and solution injection, wherein a pressure barrier of a capillary is removed by a surface tension change resulted from the solution injection to thereby obtain transport, interflow, mixing, and time delay of the microfluid, and to detail this, solution is injected to meet the boundary surface of the stopped fluid when the fluid is stopped by the stop valve, so that a function of the stop valve is removed to obtain the transport, interflow, and mixing of the fluid, and the method for controlling the microfluid may be applied to the microfluidic control device for biochemical reaction, and it uses only the capillary force change resulted from solution injection to thereby have its structure simplified.

Provided is an apparatus for controlling fluid-heating using a polymer disk, which includes: a pump for discharging fluid at a uniform flow rate; a fluid-heating module including a polymer disk to convey the fluid discharged from the pump to allow a temperature of the fluid to periodically vary; and a controller for controlling the temperature of the fluid-heating module, whereby it is possible to be adapted to a fluid device for biochemical reaction such as DNA amplification, and simply used as a disposable device, which is low cost and readily manufactured in a multiple manner.

Provided is a multiple-gate metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) transistor and a method for manufacturing the same, in which a channel is implemented in a streamline shape, an expansion region is implemented in a gradually increased form, and source and drain regions is implemented in an elevated structure by using a difference of a thermal oxidation rate depending on a crystal orientation of silicon and a geographical shape of the single-crystal silicon pattern. As the channel is formed in a streamline shape, it is possible to prevent the degradation of reliability due to concentration of an electric field and current driving capability by the gate voltage is improved because the upper portion and both sides of the channel are surrounded by the gate electrodes. In addition, a current crowding effect is prevented due to the expansion region increased in size and source and drain series resistance is reduced by elevated source and drain structures, thereby increasing the current driving capability.
