Provided are a recombinant hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 1 (HAPLN1), and a composition for preventing or treating pulmonary diseases, the composition comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of HAPLN1 (hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 1) protein, a gene coding for the HAPLN1 protein, and an effective agent for promoting the expression or activating the functions of HAPLN1 protein or gene as an active ingredient. The recombinant HAPLN1 according to the present disclosure may have superior effects of improving alveolar damage caused by aging or elastin reduction, and thus may effectively prevent or treat pulmonary diseases, such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Composition for preventing or treating pulmonary diseases comprising hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 1

Provided is a method of regenerating cartilage tissues by treatment with hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 1 (HAPLN1), and a composition for regenerating cartilage, the composition including HAPLN1 as an active ingredient. According to the present disclosure, the HAPLN1 protein may have cartilage formation-stimulating ability and articular cartilage regeneration ability, may increase an expression level of TGF-&#x3b2; receptor I of chondrocytes to increase a component ratio of cells having cartilage formation ability, and to induce regeneration of cartilage tissues. Accordingly, the HAPLN1 protein of the present disclosure, which is a novel composition regulating TGF-&#x3b2; signaling, may be usefully applied as a pharmaceutical composition for regenerating cartilage, a health food composition for regenerating cartilage, or a reagent composition for regenerating cartilage.

Cartilage regeneration composition containing HAPLN1 as active ingredient

The present disclosure relates to HAPLN1 protein of an aged individual. The HAPLN1 protein exhibits reduced expression with aging, and when administered, its effect in alleviating and reversing skin aging including wrinkles is excellent. Therefore, by exploiting the difference in expression, provided are a biomarker composition for measuring skin aging, capable of diagnosing skin aging; a kit; and a method of screening for skin aging alleviating agents, comprising detecting the expression level of HAPLN1 protein or HAPLN1 gene. In addition, provided are a pharmaceutical composition, cosmetic composition, or health functional food for preventing or alleviating skin aging, and a cosmetic composition or health functional food for alleviating wrinkles, each containing any one or more selected from the group consisting of HAPLN1 protein, a gene encoding the same, and an effective agent for promoting the expression or activating the functions of HAPLN1 protein or gene.
