The portable terminal includes a main board including a ground layer having a predetermined area; at least one antenna radiator placed at the main board; at least one conductor installed or formed in the terminal and spaced apart from the ground layer; at least one switching unit interposed between the at least one conductor and the ground layer, the switching unit selectively connecting the conductor to the ground layer through an electrical connection unit; and a controller controlling the switching unit so that the conductor and the ground layer of the main board are selectively electrically connected depending on a state of the terminal.
