A coagent masterbatch comprising a semi-crystalline polyolefin carrier resin and an alkenyl-functional coagent. A peroxide curable formulation comprising the coagent masterbatch and a polyolefin compound. A method of making the masterbatch and formulation; a peroxide-cured polyolefin product prepared therefrom; a manufactured article comprising or made from the masterbatch, formulation, or product; and a method of using the manufactured article.

Masterbatch with semi-crystalline polyolefin carrier resin

A method of making a homogeneous mixture comprising a liquid hydrocarbylsulfonic acid and a polyolefin, the method comprising multiple stages of adding, mixing, and monitoring of temperature of the ingredients. The method enables making embodiments of the homogeneous mixture having more than 3 weight percent of the liquid hydrocarbylsulfonic acid incorporated into the polyolefin and prevents fouling of the mixer device.

An additive masterbatch composition comprising a semi-crystalline polyolefin carrier resin and an additive package comprising a product of a reaction of an acidic condensation catalyst and a secondary diarylamine. Semi-crystalline polyolefin-based additive masterbatch composition

Silane-crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, and a phenolic antioxidant. The phenolic antioxidant has a phenol-based moiety fused with a cyclic ether where the oxygen atom of the cyclic ether is located in the para position relative to the hydroxyl group of the phenol-based moiety. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions can be employed in various articles of manufacture, such as in the wire and cable industry.

Stabilized moisture-curable polymeric compositions

Silane-crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, and a phenolic antioxidant. The phenolic antioxidant comprises two sulfur-containing radicals, one located at the ortho position and the other located at the para position relative to the hydroxyl group of the phenol. Such crosslink able polymeric compositions can be employed in various articles of manufacture, such as in the wire and cable industry.

A surfactant and a method of forming the surfactant having the formula (I) where a is an integer from 1 to 10, b is an integer from 0 to 10, Ris &#x2014;CHor &#x2014;H, n is an integer from 0 to 20, and Ris a moiety selected from the group consisting of (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI), (VII) or (VIII) where m is an integer from 0 to 4. The surfactant can be used in a method for preparing a rigid polyurethane foam. 

Surfactants for polyurethane foams

In one aspect there is provided a foam comprising: a polymeric matrix comprising polyethylene grafted polymerized siloxane, and a plurality of cells formed in the polymeric matrix and containing a blowing agent comprising carbon dioxide. In another aspect there is provided a method of making a foam comprising: grafting polymerized siloxane to polyethylene to form a grafted intermediate; molding the grafted intermediate to form a molded intermediate; and foaming the molded intermediate using high-pressure COto form the foam, wherein the foam has a porosity greater than 75%.
