A quick disconnect clamping assembly for releaseably attaching an accessory to an elongate support such as a picatinny-style mounting rail comprising a clamp body with a mounting yoke that is adapted to slide over and receive the picatinny rail. The yoke includes a substantially rectangular base plate defining the central upper surface of the clamp body and includes a pair of parallel sidewalls extending upwardly therefrom. A pair of spaced slots formed in the inner surfaces of the sidewalls are adapted to receive a spring and a spring biased positioning ball acts to precisely position the clamping assembly on the mounting rail.

A firearm support is disclosed herein. The firearm support may include a main body assembly, at least two legs operably attached to the main body assembly, and a mounting assembly operably attached to the main body assembly. The mounting assembly may include an attachment mechanism operable to attach a firearm to the mounting assembly, a pan mechanism operable to control an angular rotation about a first axis of the mounting assembly, and a cant mechanism operable to control an angular rotation about a second axis of the mounting assembly.

A bipod comprises first and second tubular, spring-loaded telescopically extendable legs terminating distally in substantially triangular, claw-like end effectors. Each end effecter includes a substantially planar central segment having an upper surface defining a polygon resembling a truncated triangle with the first, second and third corners projecting downwardly at an acute angle. The first second and third downwardly projecting corner segments define substantially planar, triangular claw members, and so form a cup-shaped three pointed claw ideally well suited to grasp but not sink into any terrain surface.

A firearm auxiliary sight is stored below the firearm optical sight and quickly deployable by means of activation of a lever which disengages the sight whereby a spring moves it outwardly from a housing. During deployment the auxiliary sight is rotated to an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the firearm and simultaneously the sight aperture is rotated upwardly.

A clamping assembly for releasably attaching an accessory such as a bipod to an upwardly projecting elongate support such as a picatinny-style mounting rail includes a clamping mount configured to releasably attach to the upward facing picatinny rail, so that the bipod, when deployed, suspends a device to be supported between the bipod's legs.

A tripod assembly having multiple interchangeable accessories for use in supporting a firearm or other device includes mounting couplers for releasably securing the assembly to an attachment point on a device to be supported, such as the forearm of a rifle, mounting brackets that are not affixed to the device to be supported, and threaded fasteners adapted for connection to standard threaded sockets for supporting devices such as cameras, spotting scopes and the like. The tripod assembly has a substantially planar, generally triangular tripod base including three sides terminating in, and defining, first, second and third vertices carrying respective first, second and third telescoping support legs.

A method for mounting a bipod support to a forearm stock of a firearm or other bipod mounted device permits a user or shooter to selectively allow panning (or altering the aim point along an azimuth), tilting (or altering the orientation of a device relative to a horizontal line) and canting (or orienting a device at a selected rotational orientation relative to an axis of rotation). The bipod support includes lockable controls for selectively limiting panning, tilting and canting in a manner which lets the shooter or user easily respond to changing situations when in the field.

A collapsible buttstock which is adapted primarily for use with military and tactical carbines, is supported by an extension tube which is connectable to the receiver of a carbine on which the collapsible buttstock is to be mounted. A storage enclosure is formed in the body of the buttstock and is sized and dimensioned so that it can receive a clip or magazine, typically able to carry 20 rounds, that is usable with the carbine on which the collapsible buttstock is mounted. The enclosure is provided with an openable cover that is hingably attached to the buttstock body. An easily operable cover latch assembly is usable to secure the cover in a closed position while facilitating expeditious opening of the cover to afford access to the spare magazine storage enclosure.

Back-up sights for use on a rifle configured with an optical sight aligned along a first sighting axis include a handguard or support carrying first and second attachment points that are substantially parallel with the central axis of the rifle's barrel but offset at a different angle than the first sighting axis. A back-up front sight and rear sight are carried on a back-up sight base, where the front sight and rear sight are aligned along a second sight axis that is offset, preferably, by one-eighth turn from the first sighting axis. When using the back-up sights, the user tilts or cants the rifle to one side, rotating the rifle one-eighth turn about the axis of the barrel's bore, to look down the second sighting axis, while aiming the rifle at the target.
