The invention concerns a disinfection device includes a disinfection chamber having an interior volume and a radiation source coupled to the interior volume. The radiation source is arranged to emit disinfecting radiation into the interior volume when in operation. A disinfection program in the disinfection chamber is arranged to control the radiation source to emit the disinfecting radiation according to parameters determined based on at least one of a three dimensional model of the disinfection chamber and a three dimensional model of a target article to be disinfected. The three dimensional model of the disinfection chamber is formed using data collected by operating at least one radiation source in a data collection disinfection chamber, or by providing a disinfection chamber model having a virtual interior volume. The three dimensional model of the target article to be disinfected is formed by providing a target article model having a virtual surface.

Modeling to assist high-level UV-C disinfection

A system includes a disinfection chamber having an interior volume, a radiation source to emit radiation into the interior volume, a radiation sensor circuit to detect radiation in the interior volume, an independent monitoring circuit to detect radiation in the interior volume, and a computing device that has a memory and a processor. The memory stores first radiation values captured by the radiation sensor circuit, second radiation values captured by the independent monitoring circuit, and computer instructions. The processing unit executes the computer instructions to start the emission of radiation, generate first and second accumulated radiation values from the stored values, respectively, and stop the emission of radiation after reaching a first radiation threshold. Based on a comparison of the first accumulated radiation value to the second accumulated radiation value, a validated disinfection signal or an error signal will be asserted.

Independent monitoring circuit for a disinfection system

A disinfection system includes a disinfection chamber and a disinfection device. The disinfection chamber has an interior volume, a plurality of radiation sources, which, when enabled, output a disinfecting radiation, at least one disinfection chamber registration feature, and a disinfection chamber controller arranged to perform a disinfection process via enablement of the plurality of radiation sources. The disinfection tray device has a UV-transparent tray structure, the UV-transparent tray structure having a multi-compartment receptacle shaped to align and contain a certain type of target article to be disinfected.
