The present invention relates to topical compositions comprising 10-hydroxystearic acid or a salt thereof and at least one nonionic emulsifier. The present invention also relates to a method to retard or inhibit the re-crystallisation of 10-hydroxystearic acid or a salt thereof in a topical composition, said method comprising formulating 10-hydroxystearic acid or a salt thereof in the presence of at least one nonionic emulsifier.

10-hydroxystearic acid compositions

The invention relates to topical sunscreen emulsion comprising an oil phase and a water phase, wherein said emulsion comprises a phosphate ester emulsifier, phytantriol and an amount of at least 1 wt.-% based on the total weight of the topical sunscreen emulsion of at least one UV-filter substance. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of phytantriol for improving the water resistance of such topical sunscreen emulsions.

Topical sunscreen emulsions

The present invention relates to topical compositions comprising at least one inorganic micropigment and a cetyl phosphate surfactant mixture consisting essentially of mono- and/or dicetyl esters of phosphoric acid or salts thereof and cetylalcohol and inorganic phosphate and heavy metals and water, characterized in that the surfactant mixture contains no organochlorine impurities and has an inorganic phosphate content of less than 0.7 wt.-% and a heavy metal content of less than 12 ppm.
