A device (D') for detecting the presence of a user includes: an electrode (&#x2032;), electrode control elements (), and a low frequency antenna (). The electrode (&#x2032;) is formed by a plurality of structural units (M. . . M), each structural unit (M. . . M) including: a conductive segment (A . . . I) defined by dimensions (Lx, lx, e) and electrically connected at least to a conductive connection (C) defined by a position of connection with respect to the conductive segment (A . . . I). The structural units (M. . . M) are electrically interconnected by the conductive connections (C). At least two consecutive structural units (M. . . M) differ by: the dimensions (Lx, lx, e) of the conductive segment (A . . . I) and/or the position of the conductive connection (C).

Disclosed is a lighting device (D') on a motor vehicle, including: at least one light source (D, D, D, D) controlled by a pulse-width modulated lighting signal (PWM&#x2032;); and a body controller module () generating the lighting signal (PWM&#x2032;) linked to the light source and, to at least one sensor () detecting the approach and/or contact of the user's hand. The device includes a switching element (S, S, S, S) located between the detection sensor and the light source. The detection sensor includes: receiving and a processing element () of the lighting signal; and a control element () of the switching element, linked electrically firstly to the receiving and processing element, and secondly to the light source via the switching element. Also disclosed is a method for controlling the light source.

On-board lighting device in a motor vehicle and related method for controlling a light source

Method for communication between an electronic module and a sensor having a light source and being supplied by supply line, the electronic module measuring the modulations of the intensity of the current in the line. The sensor drives a gradual turning on/turning off of the light source by a first modulation of the intensity of the current such that: the light source is turned off, respectively turned on, when the intensity of the current is in a low, respectively high, state, and the light source illuminates, respectively turns off, when the duty ratio of the intensity of the current varies from the high state to the low state and vice versa. During detection, the sensor dispatches a second modulation through the light source, however if the light source is turning on (or off), this is interrupted and the intensity of current is forced to the high (or low) state.
