In one example, a method may include acquiring imaging data corresponding to a plurality of divergent X-rays, assigning a single functional form to the plurality of divergent X-rays, determining, via a homographic transform, weights of interaction between a plurality of distribution samples and a plurality of X-ray detector bins based on the single functional form, and reconstructing an image based on the weights of interaction.

Systems and methods for reprojection and backprojection via homographic resampling transform

A method for reconstructing an object via tomography is provided. The method includes: acquiring a plurality of projections of the object at different angles via an imaging system; backprojecting each projection of the plurality to generate an intermediate image of each projection via at least one processor of the imaging system; and applying a filter to each intermediate image via the at least one processor. The filter is based at least in part on a noise model and an image model.

The imaging system also includes a gantry configured to at least partially revolve the X-ray source and the X-ray detector about a primary rotational axis. A method is provided for processing a sequence of sets of 2D projection images of a moving object, wherein the sequence of sets of 2D projection images is obtained by a medical imaging system that is in motion along a trajectory. The method comprises determining a sequence of images which minimize a function dependant on a set of 3D images, a term of fidelity of the sequence of images, a function of spatial and temporal compression of the sequence of images, a compressibility parameter, and a sequence of operators for an approximate modelling of motion. The sequence of operators leads to a compression constraint augmented by partial knowledge of the motion and the minimization comprises defining a decreasing sequence of degrees of compressibility for which an estimation is determined from an initial sequence.

Tomographic reconstruction of a moving object

A method for processing a sequence of a plurality of projection images of an object of interest is provided. The method, being recursive, comprises defining, a priori, a sparse image and a series of models for breaking down the object as a sum of a sparse component and of a complementary non-sparse component; initializing a sparse image depending on the sparse image defined a priori and initializing the series of models for breaking down the object; reconstructing an image of the sparse component of the decomposition model of the object from acquired projection images and from the initialized sparse image; and updating the sparse image so that, during the iterations, the reconstruction of the image of the sparse component gradually reintroduces the complementary component into the sparse image, in order to obtain a complete image of the non-sparse object.

A method and apparatus for imaging including reconstruction of an image of an object from a set of projections acquired for different positions of an acquisition apparatus around the object to be imaged and in which a projection source is situated at a finite distance relative to the acquisition apparatus. Calibration of the radiological imaging device is provided by moving the device with respect to a calibration object and performing a series of acquisitions, each acquisition being associated to a calibration position of the device. Based on the acquisitions performed, determining the projection parameters associated to each calibration position of the device. For an additional position that has not been taken by the device during the acquisition, determining the projection parameter values associated to this additional position according to the parameters associated to the calibration positions.
