The container is suitable for storage of oxygen sensitive materials and has as part of its exposed interior surface a composition composed of a polymeric matrix with a substantially water insoluble oxygen scavenger and a substantially water-insoluble transition metal containing compound distributed therein.

Disclosed are waterborne, stable photoresist compositions and methods of their preparation and use. The compositions are characterized by increased shear and storage stability. The photoresist composition comprises an aqueous emulsion of a 22% or less neutralized carboxylated resin and non-ionic surfactant containing poly(ethylene-oxide) segments, photopolymerizable monomer and photoinitiator. Neutralization is accomplished using either an organic or an inorganic base or mixtures thereof. The photoresist compositions are useful to selectively coat and protect surfaces subjected to corrosive environments, e.g., etchant processes, in the production of circuit traces for electronic circuit boards.

An oxygen scavenging composition composed of a carrier and an ascorbate based agent impregnated inert, porous particulate material distributed throughout the carrier. The composition is contained within the interior cavity of a container to scavenge oxygen therein. The composition may form at least a part of the interior surface of the container or be present therein in the form of a film, mat, sachet or ceramic.

An article useful for packaging oxygen-sensitive products is disclosed. The article is a single or multi-layer article capable of enveloping the oxygen sensitive product. The article has at least one layer which contains a composition composed of an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon polymer and a transition metal salt. The layer is capable of scavenging oxygen at a rate of at least 1 cc oxygen per square meter per day and has a capacity of at least 250 cc oxygen per square meter per mil thickness of the layer.

Packaging articles suitable for scavenging oxygen

A photopolymer useful in preparing water-developable, solid printing plates is prepared by preparing a urethane prepolymer by reacting polyoxyalkylene diols or polyester diols, or a mixture thereof, with an excess of diisocyanate, followed by chain extending the resulting prepolymer mixture with an alkyldialkanolamine, then reacting the chain-extended product with a hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate. The resulting photopolymer is suitably formulated with additional photoactive (meth)acrylate monomers or oligomers and photoinitiator for casting or extrusion on a substrate to form a flexographic printing plate. Following UV exposure of the plate through a negative, unexposed areas can be removed by washing with a slightly acidic aqueous medium, to give a plate with a desirable relief image. The use of the aqueous washout solution as opposed to organic solvents minimizes pollution problems.

Aqueous developable photosensitive polyurethane-(meth)acrylate

An additive is provided that comprises a single blend of an acid component and calcium stearate for simultaneously controlling both primary and secondary efflorescence in concrete, and particularly in concrete masonry units such as pavers. A preferred method comprises the steps of partially saponifying tall oil fatty acid with calcium hydroxide, and thereafter adding calcium stearate dispersion to form a stable emulsion blend. In another embodiment, potassium hydroxide is mixed with calcium stearate dispersion, then subsequently introduced into tall oil fatty acid to provide a non-emulsion TOFA/CSD blend.

When formulated with photoinitiator and (optional) unsaturated monomers, the ionomer is particularly useful in making photopolymer-based flexographic printing plates.

Toughened photocurable polymer composition for processible flexographic

A composition for scavenging oxygen is disclosed. The composition comprises an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon and a transition metal catalyst and can be incorporated into various types of layers. It is preferable that the composition be incorporated into layers of multilayered articles used for packaging oxygen-sensitive products such as food products.

Packaging materials containing inherently antistatic foams and a method of using the foams are disclosed. The foam used is a polyether polyurethane foam prepared from an isocyanate containing prepolymer which is the reaction product of a oxyethylene containing polyol and a polyisocyanate. The foams show surface resistivity of less than 1.times.10.sup.12 ohms/square and static decay times of about two seconds or less. A preferred foam shows static decay times of 0.1 seconds or less. The packaging includes articles used around static sensitive devices or used to store or transport static sensitive devices.

A semi-rigid, heat-sealable laminate with permanent antistatic characteristics comprising a semi-rigid packaging material having a coating of heat-sealable antistatic plastic. The antistatic plastic is a film of a modified acid copolymer. The modified acid copolymer is selected from (I) a mixture of (A) a polymer containing carboxylic acid moieties and (B) an antistatically effective amount of a quaternary amine, or (II) the acid/base reaction product of (A) a polymer containing carboxylic acid moieties and (C) an antistatically effective amount of an organic or inorganic base.
