The invention provides a composition comprising the following: A) an anhydride and/or carboxylic acid functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer having the following properties: i) a melt viscosity (177&#xb0; C.) less than, or equal to, 50,000 cP, ii) MWD from 1.5 to 5, and iii) a density from 0.855 to 0.900 g/cc; B) a tackifier; and C) a wax.

Adhesive compositions containing modified ethylene-based polymers

The present disclosure provides a composition. In an embodiment an adhesive composition is provided and includes A) a propylene based plastomer or elastomer (PBPE) comprising up to 10 wt % units derived from ethylene and having (i) a Koenig B-value less than 1.0; (ii) a total unsaturation per mole of propylene from 0.01% to 0.03%; (iii) a density from 0.870 g/cc to 0.890 g/cc; (iv) a melt viscosity at 177&#xb0; C. from 800 mPa&#xb7;s to 11,000 mPa&#xb7;s; and (v) a weight average molecular weight from 20,000 to 50,000 g/mol; B) a tackifier; and C) a wax.

The present disclosure is directed to a hot melt adhesive composition including: a) an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin multi-block copolymer having a weight molecular weight (Mw) less than 20,000; b) a tackifier having a softening temperature from 90&#xb0; C. to 150&#xb0; C.; and c) a wax.

The invention provides compositions containing at least one functionalized polyolefin, and in particular, to compositions containing at least one functionalized ethylene interpolymer, which has a melt viscosity less than 50,000 cP at 350&#xb0; F. (177&#xb0; C.) and a molecular weight distribution (M/M) from about 1 to 5. The invention also provides adhesive formulations containing the same. The invention also relates to the preparation of the functionalized interpolymers, by reacting, for example, such an ethylene interpolymer with the following: a) at least one unsaturated compound, containing at least one heteroatom, and b) at least one initiator.

Functionalized olefin interpolymers, compositions and articles prepared therefrom, and methods for making the same

The invention provides an adhesive formulation comprising an olefin block copolymer comprising hard blocks and soft blocks wherein the hard blocks comprise 4-8 mol % comonomer; and are present in an amount of 20 wt %-45 wt %. This formulation is particularly advantageous for use in hot melt adhesives but may be used in other applications as well.

Functionalized olefin interpolymers, compositions and articles prepared therefrom and methods for making the same

The invention relates compositions containing at least one silane-grafted polyolefin, and in particular, to compositions containing at least one silane-grafted ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin polymer, which has a melt viscosity less than 50,000 cP, and adhesives containing the same. In one embodiment, the at least one silane-grafted ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin polymer is formed from an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin polymer that has a molecular weight distribution from 1 to 3.5. The invention also relates to the preparation of the silane-grafted polymers, by reacting, for example, an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin polymer with at least one silane compound and at least one initiator.

Silane-grafted olefin polymers, compositions and articles prepared therefrom, and methods for making the same

The invention relates to functionalized interpolymers derived from base olefin interpolymers, which are prepared by polymerizing one or more monomers or mixtures of monomers, such as ethylene and one or more comonomers, to form an interpolymer products having unique physical properties. The functionalized olefin interpolymers contain two or more differing regions or segments (blocks), resulting in unique processing and physical properties.

Functionalized ethylene/alpha-olefin interpolymer compositions

An adhesive composition comprising a copolymer of propylene and at least one comonomer selected from the group consisting of ethylene and C&#x3b1;-olefins, the copolymer having (i) a content of units derived from propylene of greater than about 50 mole percent, (ii) a Brookfield viscosity at 190 C from about 50 to about 100,000 cP, (iii) an MWD from about 1.5 to about 15, and (iv) containing less than about 50 ppm residual catalyst metal.

The invention provides a comprising one or more ethylene interpolymers, and wherein the interpolymers, or the composition, has a melt viscosity from 1 to 30,000 cP at 177&#xb0; C., and wherein at least one ethylene interpolymer has an Rv from 0.3 to 0.99. The invention further provides a composition comprising at least one low molecular weight (LMW) ethylene interpolymer, and at least one high molecular weight (HMW) ethylene interpolymer, and wherein the composition has a melt viscosity from 1 to 30,000 cP at 177&#xb0; C., and wherein the sum of the Rv from the low molecular weight interpolymer and the high molecular weight interpolymer is from 0.3 to 2. The invention further provides for processes of making such compositions, processes for functionalizing the interpolymer(s) of such compositions, and articles comprising at least one component prepared from an inventive composition.

Low molecular weight ethylene interpolymers, methods of making, and uses thereof

An adhesive composition comprises: (i) at least one ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer, (ii) at least one tackif&#xca;er; and (iii) optionally at least one additive, such as a plasticizer, wax and antioxidant. Preferably, the ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin interpolymer has a M/Mfrom about 1.7 to about 3.5, at least one melting point, T, in degrees Celsius, and a density, d, in grams/cubic centimeter, wherein the numerical values of Tand d correspond to the relationship: T&#x2267;858.91&#x2212;1825.3()+1112.8(). The composition has relatively higher SAFT temperature and can be used in hot melt adhesives pressure-sensitive adhesives, and thermoplastic marking paints.
