Vascular occlusion balloon

A vascular occlusion catheter for partial occlusion or full occlusion includes a proximal outer shaft, a distal outer shaft, and an occlusion balloon therebetween. The proximal shaft has first and second internal lumens, the first internal lumen being in fluid communication with the balloon. The distal shaft has a distal internal lumen. A hypotube extends through the first internal lumen, through the balloon and into communication with the distal internal lumen. A first window is formed in the proximal shaft and a proximal sensor is positioned within the second internal lumen at the window. A second window is formed in the distal shaft and a distal sensor is positioned within the distal internal lumen at the window. A display hub is positioned along the proximal shaft and electrically connected with the sensors The uninflated vascular occlusion catheter has a greatest outer diameter of seven French or less.

Vascular occlusion catheter for partial occlusion or full occlusion

An occlusion catheter system for full or partial occlusion of a vessel includes an occlusion balloon. The balloon is positioned in a folded, uninflated configuration around a central shaft, a proximal shaft, and a distal shaft of the occlusion catheter system, having an outer diameter less than seven French. The balloon is constructed of a semi-compliant or non-compliant material and is sized to have a blown diameter between approximately ten percent to sixty percent greater than the inner diameter of the vessel, whereby an outer surface of the balloon comes into full diametric contact with an inner surface of the vessel upon partial inflation of the balloon and folds are formed in the outer surface of the balloon. The folds define flow channels with inner surfaces of the vessel or with portions of the outer surface of the balloon that allow partial blood flow past the balloon.

Occlusion catheter system for full or partial occlusion

An occlusion catheter system includes a proximal hub having an inflation connection port and an inflation pathway. An inflation catheter member is connected to the proximal hub and has an inflation lumen. A stiffener member defines a longitudinal axis. The proximal end of the stiffener member is connected to the proximal hub. The stiffener member extends through a portion of the inflation lumen. An occlusion balloon has a proximal balloon end and a distal balloon end. A distal catheter member is positioned substantially on the longitudinal axis and is connected to the distal end of the stiffener member. An atraumatic tip is positioned on a distal end of the distal catheter member. The atraumatic tip has a substantially circular profile in a relaxed configuration. A pressure sensor is connected to the occlusion catheter system distally relative to the occlusion balloon and is connected to a processor by electrical wiring.

System and method for low-profile occlusion balloon catheter

An occlusion catheter system includes an inflation catheter member and an occlusion balloon. The proximal and distal balloon ends are connected to the inflation catheter between the proximal and distal catheter ends. A distal pressure sensor is attached to the inflation catheter member between the proximal balloon end and the atraumatic tip. An inflatable spine is connected to the inflation catheter. The proximal spine end is connected to the inflation catheter near the proximal balloon end and the distal spine end is connected to the inflation catheter near the distal balloon end. The occlusion balloon and the inflatable spine are configured to define blood flow channels with the internal surface and the external balloon surface when the occlusion catheter system is at least partially positioned in the vessel and the occlusion balloon and the inflatable spine are in a partially inflated configuration.

A body model system for temporary hemorrhage control training and simulation includes a frame simulating at least a torso of the body having a hollow portion, a simulated artery positioned in the hollow portion, a thigh patch mounted to the frame proximate the hollow portion, a pump connected in fluid communication with the simulated artery and a reservoir connected in fluid communication with the simulated artery and the pump. The frame is substantially rigid. The thigh patch is constructed of a resilient material that is pierceable by a needle. The simulated artery extends through the thigh patch. A handheld vascular access device for gaining access to a patient's vessel includes a hub, a plurality of access needles and a manifold. The hub has an inner wall and side walls that define a plurality of ports. Each of the plurality of ports has a proximal port end and a distal port end. The proximal port ends define a proximal cross-sectional area and the distal port ends define a distal cross-sectional area. The proximal cross-sectional areas are greater than the distal cross-sectional areas. Each of the plurality of ports taper from the proximal port end to the distal port end. The plurality of hollow access needles is arranged along a plane and fixedly coupled to the distal end of the hub. Each of the plurality of needles has a tip. The manifold removably engages the hub at the proximal end of the hub.
