Described herein is a hair care composition including from about 0.01% to about 20% of a lipid being one or more unsaturated fatty materials chosen from unsaturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty alcohols, and mixtures thereof. The unsaturated fatty material has a Log P of less than 8. The hair care composition also includes from about 0.01% to about 10% of a fatty acid monoester of a polyol, a saturated fatty alcohol, an ester of a saturated fatty alcohol, and mixtures thereof. The molecule of the fatty acid component of the fatty acid monoester includes a linear or a branched carbon chain with 10 to 22 carbon atoms. The fatty acid monoester of a polyol has a log P of less than 8. The molecule of the fatty alcohol includes a linear or branched carbon chain with 8 to 22 carbon atoms. The hair care composition also includes a non-aqueous volatile solvent.

Shaping keratin fibres using a reducing composition and a fixing composition

A method directed to a hair soaking treatment for frizz reduction comprising immersion of consumer hair into an aqueous composition is disclosed. A method for hair frizz reduction wherein hair is soaked for at least about 2 minutes in an aqueous composition having a viscosity of less than about 1000 cP comprising from about 0.15% to about 20% (20 g/100 ml) of a moisture control material or mixture of moisture control materials wherein the moisture control material is a compound that is represented with the structure: wherein R' is &#x2014;COOY, sulfonic acid, or C&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOY, Y is hydrogen or a metal ion, R, R, R, R, Ris hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, propyl, vinyl, allyl, methoxy, ethoxy, hydroxyl, halogen, sulfate, sulfonate, nitro, or &#x2014;CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR, and wherein the moisture control material is an acidic material and further wherein the moisture control material has a % Protein binding higher than about 20 and Molecular Volume lower than about 500 and Partition coefficient octanol to water (log P) lower than about 3 and hydrogen binding higher than about 10 and pKa lower than about 5.0; further wherein the pH of the composition comprising the moisture control material is from about 1 to about 5.

Method for hair frizz reduction

A method directed to a hair soaking treatment for frizz reduction comprising immersion of consumer hair into an aqueous composition is disclosed. A hair conditioning composition comprising from about 0.1% to about 20% of a lipid being one or more unsaturated fatty material selected from a group consisting of an unsaturated fatty acid; an unsaturated fatty alcohol; an unsaturated amine; an unsaturated amide; and an unsaturated phospholipid; wherein the molecule of said unsaturated fatty material comprises a linear or branched carbon chain with 8 to 24 carbon atoms, and one carbon-carbon double bond in a position of the said carbon chain between position C3 and position omega for the unsaturated fatty acid or unsaturated amide and between position C2 and position omega for the unsaturated fatty alcohol, unsaturated amine or unsaturated phospholipid and wherein the LogP of said unsaturated fatty material is less than 7; and 0.1% to 20% of one or more lipid enhancing agent selected from the group comprising of a fatty acid monoester of a polyol wherein the molecule of the fatty acid component of such monoester contains a linear or branched carbon chain with 10 to 22 carbon atoms and wherein the fatty acid monoester of a polyol has a logP of less than 7; a saturated fatty alcohol wherein the molecule of the fatty alcohol contains a linear or branched carbon chain with 8 to 22 carbon atoms; an ester of a saturated fatty alcohol wherein the molecule of said ester contains 10 to 44 total carbon atoms; an alcohol wherein the molecule of such alcohol contains an aromatic ring.

The present invention relates to pigmented emulsion cosmetic compositions containing emulsifying silicone elastomers that provide a natural appearance to the skin upon application. In particular, these cosmetic compositions are formulated such that agglomeration of the pigment upon application to the skin is minimized.
