Eye and hand tracking systems in head-mounted display (HMD) devices are arranged with lensless camera systems using optical masks as encoding elements that apply convolutions to optical images of body parts (e.g., eyes or hands) of HMD device users. The convolved body images are scrambled or coded representations that are captured by a sensor in the system, but are not human-recognizable. A machine learning system such as a neural network is configured to extract body features directly from the coded representation without performance of deconvolutions conventionally utilized to reconstruct the original body images in human-recognizable form. The extracted body features are utilized by the respective eye or hand tracking systems to output relevant tracking data for the user's eyes or hands which may be utilized by the HMD device to support various applications and user experiences. The lensless camera and machine learning system are jointly optimizable on an end-to-end basis.

A gaze detection assembly comprises a plurality of infrared (IR) light emitters configured to emit IR light toward a user eye and an IR camera configured to sequentially capture IR images of the user eye. A controller is configured to, during a reference frame, control the plurality of IR light emitters to emit IR light toward the user eye with a reference intensity distribution. During the reference frame, an IR image is captured depicting a first glint distribution on the user eye. Based at least in part on the first glint distribution, during a subsequent frame, the plurality of IR light emitters are controlled to emit IR light toward the user eye with a subsequent intensity distribution, different than the reference intensity distribution. During the subsequent frame, a second IR image is captured depicting a second glint distribution on the user eye.

A camera system comprises a lamp configured to emit light, a lamp driver configured to energize the lamp, an image-sensor array configured to acquire image data, a lenslet array, and an image engine. The lenslet array comprises a plurality of lenslets arranged laterally over the image-sensor array and configured to focus the light, reflected from a subject, onto the image-sensor array. The image engine is configured to (a) receive the image data from the image-sensor array, (b) resolve the image data into a plurality of component images, and (c) return an enhanced image based on the plurality of component images, the enhanced image having enhanced spatial resolution relative to any of the component images.

Disclosed is a novel electrical probe that stores probe-specific information. A probe implemented in accordance with the invention includes a processor, memory, and a communications interface. Probe-specific information such as a probe identifier and/or calibration parameters that affect the true value of a measurement are stored in the probe memory. The probe-specific information may be retrieved by the processor from the probe memory via the communications interface.

Disclosed is a novel method and apparatus for acquiring multiple capacitively sensed measurements from a circuit under test. Multiple digital sources are respectively connected to stimulate multiple respective first ends of multiple respective nets of interest. Respective second ends of the multiple respective nets of interest are capacitively sensed. The respective capacitively coupled signals are digitally sampled and shift correlated with respective expected digital signatures. If a high level of correlation is found for a given net, the net is electrically intact; otherwise, the net is characterized by either an open or some other fault that prevents it from meeting specification.

Capacitive sensor measurement method for discrete time sampled system for in-circuit test

A novel capacitive sensor assembly that utilizes a flex circuit for amplification of capacitively sensed signals and for separating the power, ground, and measurement signals is presented. The use of a flex circuit in the capacitive probe assembly allows implementation of multiple capacitive sensors for respectively capacitively coupling multiple signals from respective multiple test points of a circuit under test. The invention integrates the sensor plate, amplifier, and return wiring for each capacitive sensor all onto one flex circuit.

A novel technique for transferring power, measurement signals, and communication signals between two electrical devices over a single wire pair is presented. A host device supplies power to a sensor device over the wire pair. The sensor device obtains A/C signals by modulating the current component of the power signal on the wire pair. The host device de-modulates the current component of the power signal on the wire pair to recover the A/C measurement signals. The sensor device generates a serial bit stream containing sensor communication signals, and modulates it with either the voltage-or current-component of the power signal present on the wire pair. The host device appropriately de-modulates the power signal to recover the serial bit stream containing the sensor communication signals.
