A plumbing apparatus for placing and supporting a vertical pipe in relation to an installation surface, comprising a plumbing target placement tool, and a plumbing target guide having a pair of securing rods and a pipe supporting member, the plumbing target placement tool allows the securing rods to be precisely embedded into the installation surface over an installation point. The pipe supporting member is attached to the securing rods in vertical alignment with the installation point, and allows the vertical pipe to be vertically inserted, to be supported perpendicularly to the installation surface an in vertical alignment with the installation point. The plumbing apparatus further comprises a horizontal pipe alignment guide that allows horizontal pipe to be positioned along a guide line that runs through the installation point, the horizontal alignment guide being attached to two additional securing rods placed astride the guide line with the horizontal pipe centered therebetween.

An acidic aqueous shampoo composition, which comprises: (I) a cleansing surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, zwitterionic or amphoteric surfactant and nonionic surfactant; (II) an emulsified silicone, (III) an anti-settling, thickening polymer, wherein the anti-settling, thickening polymer, comprises: (a) 40 to 74.5 wt % of structural units of Calkyl acrylate; (b) 20 to 50 wt % of structural units of methacrylic acid; (c) 0.3 to &#x3c;5 wt % of structural units of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS); (d) 5 to 25 wt % of structural units of a specialized associated monomer having the following structure: wherein Ris a linear saturated Calkyl group; wherein Ris a hydrogen or a methyl group (preferably, wherein Ris a methyl group); and wherein n is an average of 20 to 28; with the proviso that the structural units of the specialized associated monomer (d) are derived from one of (i) a single specialized associated monomer (preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein Ris selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated Calkyl group, a linear saturated Calkyl group and a linear saturated Calkyl group; more preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein Ris selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated Calkyl group and a linear saturated Calkyl group); (ii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein Ris, respectively, a linear saturated Cand a linear saturated Calkyl group; or (iii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein Ris, respectively, a linear saturated Calkyl group and a linear saturated Calkyl group; (f) 0 to 2 wt % of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer or chain transfer agent; and wherein the sum of the weight percentages of structural units (a)-(f) is equal to 100 wt % of the anti-settling, thickening polymer; and method of treating hair or scalp with such a composition. 

Shampoo composition and method of use

An aqueous anti-dandruff shampoo composition which comprises: (I) a cleansing surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic surfactant, zwitterionic or amphoteric surfactant and nonionic surfactant; (II) suspended particles of an anti-dandruff agent, (III) an anti-settling, thickening polymer, wherein the anti-settling, thickening polymer, comprises: (a) 40 to 74.5 wt % of structural units of Calkyl acrylate; (b) 20 to 50 wt % of structural units of methacrylic acid; (c) 0.2 to &#x3c;5 wt % of structural units of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS); (d) 5 to 25 wt % of structural units of a specialized associated monomer having the following structure wherein Ris a linear saturated Calkyl group; wherein Ris a hydrogen or a methyl group (preferably, wherein Ris a methyl group); and wherein n is an average of 20 to 28; with the proviso that the structural units of the specialized associated monomer (d) are derived from one of (i) a single specialized associated monomer (preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein Ris selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated Calkyl group, a linear saturated Calkyl group and a linear saturated Calkyl group; more preferably, a single specialized associated monomer wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of a linear saturated C12 alkyl group and a linear saturated C18 alkyl group); (ii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein Ris, respectively, a linear saturated Cand a linear saturated Calkyl group; or (iii) two specialized associated monomers, wherein Ris, respectively, a linear saturated Calkyl group and a linear saturated Calkyl group; (e) 0 to 1 wt % of structural units of acrylic acid; and (f) 0 to 2 wt % of structural units of multi-ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking monomer or chain transfer agent; and wherein the sum of the weight percentages of structural units (a)-(f) is equal to 100 wt % of the anti-settling, thickening polymer; and the use of such a composition in a method of treating hair or scalp. 

Antidandruff composition and method of use

Provided are compositions that are useful as oil-free emollients and SPF and UV absorption boosters in sunscreen formulations. The emollients are oil-soluble polyalkylene glycols, wherein the polyalkylene glycol comprises units derived from propylene oxide and units derived from butylene oxide, and in certain embodiments are compounds of Formula I:RO&#x2014;(PO)&#x2014;(BO)&#x2014;H&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein PO is propyleneoxy, BO is butyleneoxy, R is a linear or branched C-Calkyl, n has an average value of from 5 to 20, and m has an average value of from 4 to 16.

Oil-free emollients in sunscreen compositions

The present invention provides personal care formulations containing silicone modified polyolefins and having improved sensory feel, as well as being non-tacky and easily spreadable. The present invention also provides a method for treating body surfaces such as skin, hair, nails, etc., by applying the aforesaid personal care formulations externally to such a surface. The present invention also provides a method for improving the sensory feel of personal care formulations by including one or more silicone modified polyolefins in the formulations.

Described are personal care, preferably skin care compositions, comprising polyolefin blends comprising at least one metallocene catalyzed polyolefin with a density above 0.90 g/cm, at least one metallocene catalyzed polyolefin with a density equal to or below 0.90 g/cm, provided that the average melt index for the polyolefin blend is greater than 7; and a cosmetically acceptable hydrocarbon oil, provided that the composition does not contain ethylene acrylic copolymer.

A skin care formulation which provides a skin lightening effect virtually immediately upon topical application to the skin and which includes a combination of one or more poly(ethylene) oxides and an acrylic emulsion polymer film former comprising emulsion polymers derived from one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers.

The present invention provides a hair styling composition comprising (a) 1% to 10% by weight of at least one polymer comprising, as polymerized units, one or more monomers having at least one acid-functional group; (b) 99% to 90% by weight of a solvent mixture comprising: (i) 5% to 100% by weight of at least one volatile organic solvent; (ii) 95% to 0% by weight of water, and (iii) 0% to 80% by weight of at least one propellant; and (c) a neutralizer, wherein the mole ratio of said neutralizer to the acid-functional groups on said polymer (a) is from 0:1 to 1.2:1, and the neutralizer comprises: (i) 10% to 30% neutralization of the acid group of the polymer by tetrabutylammonium hydroxide, and (ii) 90% to 70% neutralization of the acid group of the polymer by aminomethyl propanol. More particularly, the polymer (a) may comprise, as polymerized units, (i) 30% to 75% by weight of one or more monomer that has refractive index of 1.490 or higher, (ii) 1% to 30% by weight of one or more acid-functional monomer, and (iii) 5% to 69% by weight of one or more additional monomer. The hair styling composition of the present invention has improved clarity and humidity resistance.
