A weight storage peg for supporting free weight plates from an exercise superstructure includes a bar extending from a fastener. An exterior surface of the bar is provided by a nylon casting around a cylindrical tube weldment. The nylon casting tapers from a wider portion adjacent the free end to a narrower portion nearer the fastener. The nylon casting also provides a mounting flange around the head of a female threaded mounting bolt, with the female threaded mounting bolt welded to a cylindrical tube to form the cylindrical tube weldment.

A modular upright for an exercise equipment superstructure has a base with a floor plate and a stub, a lower tubular upright portion, a connector and an upper tubular upright portion. The lower tubular upright portion and the upper tubular upright portion both have openings defined at regular intervals along their length for supporting exercise equipment accessories, as well as correspondingly positioned openings in the stub and the connector so fasteners can be used for connection of the components. The stub, the upright portions and the connector are all formed of tubing, sized so none of the columnar load stresses the connector or the stub or the fasteners.

A tube is cut to form a tube-formed box with an opening on its top side. A hitch ball is pivotally mounting on the tube-formed box, so as to extend above the tube-formed box when the hitch ball is in the operative position and to reside within the tube-formed box when the hitch ball is in the inoperative, stowed position. The tube-formed hitch box is joined to and extends through an underbed plate, with the top surface of the tube-formed hitch box higher than the top surface of the underbed plate, so the bed of the truck can ride on the underbed plate up to and even with the tube-formed hitch box. In another aspect, the door of the hitch includes one or more recesses around the finger hole, such as a finger access recess on one top side and a finger grip recess on the opposite bottom side of the door.

A trailer hitch receiver tube comprising a hollow tubular member adapted to receive a hitch bar, the tubular member including a free end, the free end defining a notch. The tube may be fitted with a lip to create a receiver box. The lip includes a tab which is positioned within the notch and accommodates tightening of an inserted bar within the tube cavity.
