Apparatus for the fixed-angle fixation and compression of a fracture site or osteotomy of a bone includes a bone plate having a plurality of holes and bone screws with a threaded head. The bone screws accommodated in the holes are screwed into the bone. At least one of the holes is a combination of two circular holes of different diameter. As screwing of the bone screw into the bone proceeds through a final stage, engagement of the threads on the head with threads in the combination hole effects relative longitudinal displacement between the plate and the bone whereby it is possible to simplify simultaneous fixed angle fixation and compression of the fracture or osteotomy with use of a single screw. Threads on the head of the bone screw engage threads in the hole which is a combination of the two hole to effect relative motions.

A bone plate system is for osteosynthesis with a bone plate, a bone screw, the screw head of which has, at least in sections, a surface structure, a further bone screw, the screw head of which has, at least in sections, a surface structure, a through-hole, which is configured to hold the bone screw polyaxially, a further through-hole, which is associated with the through-hole and configured to hold the further bone screw, a perforation which connects the through-hole and the further throughhole, and a bulge, which is formed opposite to the perforation on the through-hole, extending the latter, hi the screwed-in state, the bone screw and the further bone screw are affixed at a fixed angle in many dimensions by virtue of the screw heads of the bone screw and the further bone screw being secured against a relative notion in relation to one another and in relation to the bone plate by a tensioned multi-point mount, in which attachments of the bone screw are formed in the through-hole at both transition regions between the bulge and the through-hole section respectively adjacent to the bulge.

Bone plate system for osteosynthesis

A knee arthrodesis implant has a femur nail and a tibia nail. A connecting module has two longitudinally separated half shells that when connected form a passage. One end of the connecting module is coupled to a femur nail neck and the other end is coupled to a tibia nail neck. The half shells have a plurality of corresponding recesses extending perpendicularly to the passage. Each recess receives a tensioning screw, and tightening the tensioning screws couples the femur and tibia nail necks to the connecting module by holding the femur and tibia nail necks within the passage by frictional contact. Each of the two half shells is angled along its length, an angle of one of the half shells corresponding to an angle of the other of the half shells, allowing the tibia nail and femur nail to extend from the passage at an angle from one another.

Knee arthrodesis implant

A modular joint prosthesis includes a nail for insertion into a bone marrow canal, the nail having a nail neck. A neck piece has a proximal end, a middle shaft portion defining a longitudinal axis, and a distal end with a conical pin to which a slip-on joint ball can be attached. The proximal end of the neck piece has a helmet-shaped receiving head that includes an insertion opening for insertion of the nail neck or a module connector, a slot extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis, and corresponding recesses positioned on either side of the slot and extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The corresponding recesses receive a tensioning means which, in a tensioned state, clampingly fixes the nail neck or the module connector in the receiving head by frictional engagement in a jaw-like manner by application of tightening torque sufficient to prevent axial displacement and rotation.

Modular joint prosthesis

A bone plate system for osteosynthesis comprises a bone plate, a swivel screw, a clamping screw, a swivel hole formed in the bone plate as a through hole for receiving the swivel screw polyaxially, and a clamping hole, which is associated with the swivel hole and is formed in the bone plate as a further through hole for receiving the clamping screw. When the swivel screw and the clamping screw are screwed in, they are fixed with angular stability in multiple dimensions, as the screw heads of the swivel screw and of the clamping screw are secured by one another and by the bone plate against relative movement. The swivel screw and the clamping screw are each designed as a bone screw.

Bone plate

A cerclage arrangement is for fixing a bone fracture and comprises a plate that is provided with at least one throughhole. A pin is equipped with a head with an opening that extends perpendicular to the direction of the pin and is used for guiding a cerclage band or wire therethrough. The cerclage pin encompasses a shaft which is provided with an end that extends through the plate so as to engage into the bone area that is to be fixed.

A joint prosthesis system has a metal shaft, which is implanted in the femur, a throat having an outer cone, a joint ball made of ceramic and an accommodation for the throat. The accommodation has an inner cone, and a sheath-shaped adapter, which is arranged between the shaft and the joint ball in a clamping manner. Due to an exceptional elasticity and a special shaping of an inner and outer wall section of the adapter, the application of force to a narrow surface region on the metal outer cone and the application of the force into the ceramic inner cone is extensively concentrated on a load-bearing region (B) opposite the narrow surface region within the largest mass expansion of the ceramic joint ball.

Joint prosthesis system

A method and a device are for determining the compatibility between an adapter, which is to be inserted into a third-party joint ball type to be replaced, and an outer cone of a prosthesis shaft of a modular joint prosthesis, which is inserted in the femur during revision surgery. A test body of a set of test bodies having various inner cones, comprising a marker and a length measuring scale, is fitted onto the outer cone of the shaft of the joint prosthesis and, subsequently, the adapter fitting on the outer cone of the joint prosthesis is determined by successively testing the inner cones for compliance with an admissible minimum distance between the front faces of the outer cone of the shaft of the joint prosthesis and the inner cone and for compliance with an admissible predefined insertion depth of the outer cone of the shaft of the joint prosthesis in the inner cone of the test body.

Method and device for determining the compatibility between an adapter and an outer cone of a prosthesis shaft of a modular joint prosthesis

The invention relates to modular joint prostheses, comprising a curved head part to the conical pins of which a slip-on joint ball is attached, and comprising a nail which can be inserted into the bone marrow canal of the long bone and has a nail neck, wherein a connecting means is provided between the head part and the nail neck which holds the head part in a non-rotatable manner. The connecting means comprises at least one collar-like module which is located in the axial direction of the nail and has at least two semi-shells, which are divided in the axial direction of the module, are detachably connected to each other, form an axially extending passage for inserting the nail head into the passage and have recesses for receiving a tensioning means, which in the tensioned state fixes the nail head in the passage exclusively by way of factional engagement.

A knee arthrodesis implant has a femur nail inserted in the bone marrow canal of the femur, and a tibia nail inserted in the bone marrow canal of the tibia, the nails being rigidly connected to each other by a connecting means. The problem of providing a knee arthrodesis implant having increased modularity as the result of increased length variability, having a reduced number of parts, and allowing simplified modification is addressed. The problem is addressed in that the connecting means has at least one collar-like module lying in the axis direction defined by the nail, the module having at least two half-shells which are connected to each other in a detachable manner and which are separated in the axis direction (LA) of the module, said half-shells together forming a passage which extends axially and through which a nail neck is inserted, and which have recesses corresponding to each other for receiving a tensioning means, said recesses being arranged coaxially in the longitudinal direction of the module and positioned perpendicular to the axis (LA). The tensioning means fixes the respective nail neck in the passage when in the tensioned state in the manner of a clamping jaw, exclusively by means of a friction fit producing a sufficient clamping torque to prevent axial displacement and rotation.

Disclosed is a bone plate comprising at least one screw that is to be fixed at a stable angle to at least one through-hole and at least one bone screw which is provided with an external thread in the top region. Said external thread tapers more in the screwing direction than a mating thread of the through-hole embodied as an internal thread such that the top of the bone screw is clamped in a stable direction in a torsion-proof manner when the bone screw is screwed in. The bone plate is configured elastically in at least one area adjoining the through-hole such that the material of the bone plate is not deformed in the ductile area because of the expansion resulting from the head of the bone screw being screwed in. As a consequence, the area surrounding the through-hole is not overstretched in any position of the bone screw along the entire length of the threads because of the interaction between the external thread of the top of the bone screw and the internal thread of the plate while the torsion-proof condition is maintained.
