A data capture device includes: a primary housing supporting a data capture assembly and having inner and outer surfaces joined by a perimeter wall; and a mounting accessory coupled to the inner surface. The mounting accessory mounts the device on an operator index finger in either of: a side-mounted mode in which the primary housing is between the index finger and a thumb; and a top-mounted mode, in which the primary housing is on a back of the index finger. The device includes an accessory trigger on the mounting accessory and a primary trigger supported on the outer surface. In the top-mounted mode, the accessory trigger is between the index finger and the thumb, for activation by the thumb. In the side-mounted mode, the primary trigger is disposed on the side of the index finger for activation by the thumb of the operator.

Systems and methods are provided for task-based modification of visual media in a heads-up display. An example system includes a heads-up display assembly configured to be worn by a user, the heads-up display assembly including a head mount and a presentation generator configured to display visual media to the user. The example system further includes a memory, and a processor configured to interface with the presentation generator and the memory. The processor identifies a current task associated with the user, and obtains a focal distance at which the visual media is to be displayed to the user during the performance of the current task. The processor causes the presentation to display the visual media at the obtained focal distance during performance of the current task.

Systems and methods for task-based adjustable focal distance for heads-up displays

A wearable mobile electronic device is provided. The device includes: a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis between the proximal end and the distal end; a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis; and a third axis perpendicular to each of the longitudinal axis and the lateral axis; a data capture component, a pointing direction of the data capture component extending from the distal end; a touch display, a front surface of the touch display extending along the longitudinal axis and the lateral axis, the third axis normal to the front surface; and a mounting device configured to mount the housing to a hand such that the pointing direction of the data capture component points away from a wrist and the touch display is accessible to a thumb of the hand.

A method and apparatus for uploading data is provided herein. During operation vehicles in the field will upload their digital multimedia evidence (DME) to a mobile/intermediary upload point(s). These mobile/intermediary upload points preferably comprise computers existing in other vehicles that are not currently connected to a central repository. A mobile recorder (mDVR) will choose a particular mobile/intermediary upload point(s) based on a probability that the mobile upload point(s) will return to a connected upload point to upload the transferred DME.

Method and apparatus for uploading data

Described is a modular access point for wireless communications. The access point includes a housing which has at least one module receiving slot and a first wireless communication radio. The radio communicates with a first wireless device via a first frequency band. The access point also includes a removable module configured for insertion into the module receiving slot. The module includes a second communication radio utilizing a second frequency band so that, when the removable module is inserted into the slot, the access point is capable of communicating with a second wireless device via at least one of the first and second frequency bands. The access point includes a plurality of antenna connectors which are connected to the first and second radios. The access point may utilize external antennas or internal antenna modules which interchangeably attachable to the antenna connectors.

Systems and methodologies are provided for fabrication of a self contained key pad module having a top cover and a bottom cover. The top cover and the bottom cover encapsulate and/or sandwich a stack of keypad components via an over mold procedure that is performed around the stack. The packed stack between the top cover and the bottom cover can include a flex member, an electro luminous panel, and a silicone membrane with a plurality of keys thereupon.

A wearable terminal holder device includes a curved body, a first D-ring and a second D-ring. The curved body has a first side and a second side with a longitudinal axis bisecting the first and second sides. The first D-ring is pivotally coupled to the first side of the body. The second D-ring is pivotally coupled to the second side of the body.
