Silicone copolymer surface additive

Compositions are provided which may comprise a plurality of organic additive particles, the particles comprising a polymerization product of reactants comprising a dioxane/dioxolane monomer and a vinyl co-monomer, wherein the dioxane/dioxolane monomer is an ester of (meth)acrylic acid with an alcohol comprising a dioxane moiety, an ester of (meth)acrylic acid with an alcohol comprising a dioxolane moiety, or both. Toner and additive manufacturing compositions comprising the organic additive particles are also provided.

Organic additives and compositions containing the same

Disclosed herein is a toner composition, developer and additive for a toner composition. The toner composition includes toner particles having at least one resin, an optional colorant, an optional wax, and a crosslinked polymer particle on at least a portion of an external surface of the toner particles. The crosslinked polymeric particle on a surface of the toner particles includes at least a hydrophobic monomer comprising a non-fluorinated monomer having a carbon to oxygen (C/O) ratio of 3 or greater or a fluorinated monomer. The crosslinked polymer particle includes a second monomer comprising two or more vinyl groups present in an amount from about 8 wt % to about 40 wt % of the copolymer, a metal oxide and optionally a charge control agent monomer.

Toner compositions and additives

The present disclosure provides processes for producing images with toner particles. In embodiments, toner particles of a certain diameter in size are applied to a substrate as an incomplete monolayer, and then fused to form an image that is a complete monolayer and possesses a thickness less than the diameter of the particles utilized to form the image.

Imaging processes

Disclosed herein is a toner composition, developer and additive for a toner composition. The toner composition includes toner particles including at least one resin, an optional colorant, an optional wax, and a polymeric toner additive on at least a portion of an external surface of the toner particles. The polymeric toner additive includes a polymeric resin including a fluorinated monomer, wherein the polymeric resin is less than 10% by weight crosslinked, and optionally a charge control agent comprising nitrogen containing group at 0.1 wt % to 1.5 wt % of the polymeric resin.

A method for assessing polymeric additive content A in a polymeric particle mixture may comprise determining a concentration B of a metal cation in a polymeric particle mixture comprising parent polymeric particles and polymeric additive particles, wherein the metal cation is selected from alkali earth metals and alkali metals, other than sodium (Na), and the metal cation is capable of forming a water-soluble base; determining a concentration C of the metal cation in the parent polymeric particles; determining a concentration D of the metal cation in the polymeric additive particles; and calculating a polymeric additive content A using formula A=(B&#x2212;C)/D.

Polymeric additives made using base addition and related methods

Disclosed herein is a toner composition, developer and additive for a toner composition. The toner composition includes toner particles including at least one resin, an optional colorant, an optional wax, and a polymeric toner additive on at least a portion of an external surface of the toner particles. The polymeric toner additive includes a polymeric resin including a fluorinated acrylic monomer, a cross-linkable monomer containing two or more vinyl groups at 8 wt % to 40 wt % of the polymeric resin, and optionally a charge control agent comprised of a nitrogen containing group at 0.1 wt % to 1.5 wt % of the polymeric resin.

A toner including toner particles comprising at least one resin, in combination with an optional colorant, and an optional wax; and a copolymer toner additive on at least a portion of an external surface of the toner particles, the copolymer toner additive comprising a first monomer having a high carbon to oxygen ratio of from about 3 to about 8; and a second monomer comprising two or more vinyl groups, wherein the second monomer is present in the copolymer in an amount of from greater than about 8 percent by weight to about 60 percent by weight, based on the weight of the copolymer; wherein the copolymer toner additive has a volume average particle diameter of from about 20 nanometers to less than about 70 nanometers. An emulsion aggregation toner process including the copolymer as a toner surface additive.

Toner compositions and processes having reduced or no titania surface additives

A polymeric composition including a copolymer comprising a first monomer having a high carbon to oxygen ratio of from about 3 to about 8; a second monomer comprising two or more vinyl groups, wherein the second monomer is present in the copolymer in an amount of from greater than about 8 percent by weight to about 40 percent by weight, based on the weight of the copolymer; and optionally, a third monomer comprising an amine, wherein the third monomer is present in an amount of from about 0.1 percent by weight to about 1.5 percent by weight, based on the weight of the copolymer; and a surfactant, wherein the surfactant has a minimum surface tension at critical micelle concentration of less than about 30 mN/m. A toner including the copolymer as a toner surface additive. An emulsion aggregation toner process including the copolymer as a toner surface additive.

Cross-linked polymeric latex prepared with a low surface tension surfactant

A metal nanoparticle ink composition comprises an ink vehicle and a plurality of metal nanoparticles dispersed in the ink vehicle. The metal nanoparticles including both a first organic stabilizing group and a second organic stabilizing group attached thereto, the first organic stabilizing group being different from the second organic stabilizing group, the first organic stabilizing group being selected from the group consisting of decylamine, undecylamine, dodecylamine, tridecylamine, tetradecylamine and mixtures thereof, and the second organic stabilizing group being selected from group consisting of butylamine, pentylamine, hexylamine, heptylamine, octylamine, nonylamine, decylamine and mixtures thereof.

Metal nanoparticle ink composition

A dielectric ink composition includes at least one (meth)acrylate compound selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylate monomers, (meth)acrylate oligomers and combinations thereof; a sensitizing photoinitiator; an amine synergist photoinitiator; and a phosphine oxide photoinitiator. A device including a dielectric layer formed by printing the dielectric ink composition described herein is also disclosed.

Dielectric ink composition

The present disclosure provides polymeric composition for use with toner particles. The polymeric composition of the present disclosure includes a silicone-polyether copolymer and a polymeric additive, wherein the silicone-polyether copolymer comprising a polysiloxane unit and a polyether unit, and the polymeric additive comprising a copolymer possessing at least one monomer having a high carbon to oxygen ratio, a monomer having more than one vinyl group, and at least one amine-functional monomer. The present disclosure also provides method of making thereof.

Toner compositions and surface polymeric additives

A metal nanoparticle ink dispersion is made by mixing ingredients comprising: a first solvent being nonpolar and having a boiling point above 160&#xb0; C. at 1 atmosphere pressure; a second solvent having a boiling point above 230&#xb0; C. at 1 atmosphere pressure, the second organic solvent being an aromatic hydrocarbon and having a higher boiling point than the first hydrocarbon solvent; and a plurality of metal nanoparticles. A method of printing the metal nanoparticle ink dispersion is also disclosed.

The present disclosure is directed to a composition including a polyvinyl butyral represented by the following formula: wherein A, B and C represent a proportion of corresponding repeat units expressed as a weight percent, wherein each repeat unit is randomly distributed along a polymer chain and wherein the sum of A, B and C is about 100 weight percent; a poly(melamine-co-formaldehyde) based polymer and an anhydride. Devices coated with the composition and cured films formed from the composition comprising conductive features are also provided.
