An input device includes a proximity sensing panel including sensor electrodes and a proximity sensing circuit. The proximity sensing circuit is configured to acquire, for a sensing frame, sensing measurements of a sensing region using the sensor electrodes, process, for the sensing frame, the sensing measurements to obtain positional information, transmit the positional information to a processing system, and receive, from the processing system, vertical synchronization (Vsync) signal wait information responsive to the positional information. The proximity sensing circuit is further configured to adjust a sensing delay according to Vsync signal wait information.

Adaptive proximity sensing delay

A processing system is configured to drive a transmitter electrode with a repetitive multi-burst pattern. The repetitive multi-burst pattern includes a first multitude of bursts of a sensing waveform and a second multitude of bursts of the sensing waveform. The second multitude of bursts is a repetition of the first multitude of bursts. The processing system is further configured to receive, from a receiver electrode, a resulting signal in response to the repetitive multi-burst pattern, and identify, in the resulting signal, a segment least affected by a noise, and that temporally coincides with a burst in the first multitude of bursts or a burst in the second multitude of bursts matching the burst in the first plurality of bursts. The processing system is also configured to decode the resulting signal using the segment.

Short-term noise suppression

An input device includes a display substrate and a stack of display layers disposed on the display substrate, the stack of display layers including a conductive layer. The input device further includes at least one capacitive sensing layer in the stack of display layers and a multitude of capacitive sensing electrodes disposed in the at least one capacitive sensing layer, and configured for capacitance sensing. The input device also includes a processing system configured to selectively drive the multitude of capacitive sensing electrodes to emit a first sensing signal while balancing a total current induced in the conductive layer, caused by an electromagnetic emission associated with the first sensing signal.
