The coating includes a binder material and a plurality of porous polymer particles having pores with a variety of pore sizes including a first set of pores having a first average pore size d1 in the range 0.3≤d1/λ1≤0.7, wherein λ1 is a wavelength in the range of 250-400 nm, a second set of pores having a second average pore size d2 in the range 0.3≤d2/λ2≤0.7, wherein λ2 is a wavelength in the range of 400-700 nm, and a third set of pores having a third average pore size d3 in the range 0.3≤d3/λ3≤0.7, wherein λ3 is a wavelength in the range of 700-3000 nm, wherein the porous polymer particles have a shell which is impermeable to a liquid.

Coating providing panchromatic scattering

The coating includes a binder material and a plurality of UV scattering porous polymer particles having pores with a light scattering effective pore size of no more than 100 nm. The coating has a scattering opacity of no more than 20% in the wavelength band from 500 to 3000 nm.

Coating providing ultraviolet scattering

A three-dimensional part and associated support structure is constructed using an electrophotography-based additive manufacturing system. A support layer is developed using a first electrophotography engine, and a part layer is developed using a second electrophotography engine. The developed support and part layers are transferred to a transfer medium and moved into alignment with a tile region of a layer transfusion assembly, where the transferred part and support layers are transfused to previously-printed layers. This process is repeated for a plurality tile regions and for a plurality of layers to construct a three-dimensional part having a footprint larger than a maximum printable area of the first and second electrophotography engines.

A surface decorated particle including a core particle phase having an outer surface; and fine inorganic particles on the outer surface of the core particle phase; wherein the fine inorganic particles have hydrophobic groups covalently bonded primarily on portions of surfaces of the fine inorganic particles positioned away from the core particle phase. Such surface decorated particles are obtainable by a method including stabilizing dispersed hydrophobic phase particles in an aqueous phase with fine inorganic particles having a relatively hydrophilic surface; and treating the stabilized dispersed hydrophobic phase particles with a hydrophobic group containing reactant to form hydrophobic groups covalently bonded to surfaces of the fine inorganic particles. In a particular embodiment, such surface decorated particles are obtainable by a limited coalescence process for preparing binder polymer particles using inorganic stabilizer particles that provide a plurality of surface bonding sites and reacting such sites with a plurality of alkoxy silane moieties that contains pendant hydrophobic groups.

A method for forming surface decorated particles including stabilizing dispersed hydrophobic phase particles in an aqueous phase with fine inorganic particles having a relatively hydrophilic surface; and treating the stabilized dispersed hydrophobic phase particles with a hydrophobic group containing reactant to form hydrophobic groups covalently bonded to surfaces of the fine inorganic particles. In a particular embodiment, the invention provides a limited coalescence process for preparing binder polymer particles using inorganic stabilizer particles that provide a plurality of surface bonding sites and reacting such sites with a plurality of alkoxy silane moieties that contains pendant hydrophobic groups.

Method for forming surface decorated particles

One or more printers or printing systems are connected to a scanning device. Each printer includes one or more color modules that are used during a printing operation. A printer prints a target for each color module or color channel. The printed targets are then scanned by the scanning device. The printed targets may be rotated to any angle and then scanned by the scanning device. The scanned raster data is processed by a controller to detect non-uniformities in at least one density image and to generate one or more correction profiles for the printer. When an image is to be printed, one or more controllers receive the image data and use the one or more correction profiles to correct or compensate for the non-uniformities during the exposure process.

Adaptive exposure printing and printing system

An electrophotographic method for producing fused toner images on a receiver medium comprising the steps of: forming an electrostatic image pattern on an image forming member; developing the image pattern on the image forming member with fusible toner particles thereby forming a toner image thereon; transferring the toner image to the receiver medium; and heating the toner image to form a fused toner image on the receiver medium, wherein an amount of a plasticizer is added to the toner particles of the toner image after formation of the toner image on the image forming member and prior to or concurrent with fusing of the transferred toner image on the receiver medium, further wherein the amount of plasticizer added is effective in lowering the Tg of the toner below that of the toner under prevailing ambient conditions in the absence of the added plasticizer. The current invention overcomes the limitations of the prior art because the plasticizer is added immediately before fusing, thus avoiding toner clumping upon storage, as well as eliminating the high cost associated with a custom manufactured receiver that already contains plasticizer.

Universal print media

A separating agent, in particular silicon oil, applied to the surface of a fuser mechanism, preferably in an electrophotographic printing machine. Contamination of the surfaces of the printing media is substantially prevented or reduced when the separating agent is diluted with at least one solvent with a boiling point equal to or greater than 60&#xb0; C., preferably equal to or greater than 100&#xb0; C., but below 160&#xb0; C.

Separating agent for use in a fuser mechanism

An electrostatographic reproduction apparatus includes: a primary imaging member for producing an electrostatic latent image on a receiver, a development station for applying toner particles to the latent image to form a developed toner image on the receiver, a fuser assembly for fixing the developed toner image to form a fused toner image on the receiver, and a transport member for transporting the receiver to or from the fuser assembly. The transport member includes a substrate and an oil-absorbing layer that contains inorganic particles dispersed in an organic binder and is capable of absorbing release oil applied to the receiver bearing the fused toner image.
