A fastener assembly for securing a heat sink to a printed circuit board, includes a sleeve, a bolt inserted into the sleeve and a resilient component surrounding the bolt. The sleeve comprises a hollow body, a bottom plate at a bottom thereof and an engaging cylinder extending downwardly from the bottom plate. The engaging cylinder has inner thread and a deformable latching protrusion projecting radially outwardly. The bolt includes a shaft, a head and a threaded part for threadedly engaging with a retainer of the printed circuit board. The head is received in the sleeve above the bottom plate. The shaft is received in the through hole of the sleeve whilst the threaded part is held beneath the engaging cylinder of the sleeve. The resilient component is compressed between the head of the bolt and the bottom plate of the sleeve.

Heat dissipation device having fastener assemblies for attachment thereof to a heat-generating component

A heat sink assembly includes a heat sink and a clip. The clip includes a main body, two pressing portions extending outwardly from two opposite ends of the main body, two extension portions each extending upwardly from an outer end of a corresponding pressing portion, a locking arm extending slantwise and upwardly from an upper end of each extension portion, a U-shaped operating portion extending from a far end of the locking arm and a J-shaped hook extending from a free end of the operating portion. The operating portion is provided for receiving a depressing force acting on the clip for moving the hook to engage with a clasp on a printed circuit board.

Heat sink assembly having a clip

A fastening assembly used for securing a heat dissipation device to a printed circuit board, comprises a sleeve, an inserting device extending through the sleeve, a spring encircling the inserting device and received in the sleeve, and a supporting device inserted in the sleeve. The inserting device engages with a back plate below the printed circuit board. The sleeve is integrally formed of plastic and comprises a hollow body, a resilient portion extending from an outer surface of the body and pressing a bottom of the heat dissipation device upwardly, and four supporting portions extending from the outer surface of the body and pressing a top of the heat dissipation device downwardly. The supporting device is inserted between the body and the resilient portion, and abuts against the resilient portion, to thereby reliably keep the resilient portion at its locked position.

Fastening assembly for heat dissipation device

A heat sink assembly includes a base, a fin group located above a top of the base, a mounting bracket, and a fan mounted on a lateral side of the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is integrally formed by a metal sheet. The mounting bracket includes a pedestal is located at a top of the base and connects with the base, and two sidewalls extending upwardly from opposite ends of the pedestal and sandwiching the fin group therebetween. The fan is mounted on a lateral side of the sidewalls of the mounting bracket. The pedestal integrally forms four mounting arms. Four fasteners extend through the mounting arms for securing the heat sink assembly to a printed circuit board.

Heat sink assembly

A memory module assembly includes a printed circuit board having a plurality of heat-generating electronic components thereon, first and second heat sinks formed by stamping a metal sheet and attached on opposite sides of the printed circuit board and a clamp clamping the first, second heat sinks and the printed circuit board together. The first and second heat sinks each comprise a plurality of fins extending therefrom and define a plurality of openings between the fins. The fins and openings are alternately arranged on each of the first and second heat sinks along a height direction thereof. The second heat sink includes a pair of positioning tongues extending from opposite side edges thereof. The first heat sink engages with the second heat sink via the positioning tongues of the second heat sink extending in and engaging with the first heat sink.

Memory module assembly having heat sinks with improved structure

A fastening device for a heat sink includes a one-piece shaft. The shaft includes a head at one end thereof, an engaging section at an opposite end thereof, a connecting section between the head and the engaging section, and a tray extending above the engaging section. A spring surrounds the connecting section between the head and the tray of the shaft. A gasket engages with the connecting section of the shaft and is retained between the spring and the tray of the shaft. In this way the shaft, the spring and the gasket are assembled. The gasket extends a downward, annular sidewall for engaging in the heat sink, by which the fastening device can be stably fixed to the heat sink. A back plate extends a nut toward the shaft for engaging with the engaging section of the shaft.

Fastening device for heat sink

A heat sink assembly includes a heat sink and a clip. The heat sink includes a base and a plurality of fins extending upwardly from a top surface of the base. The clip includes a pressing body, two bending portions slantwise to the pressing body and extending from two opposite ends of the pressing body, and two locking arms extending from two ends of the bending portions. The pressing body of the clip abuts against the top surface of the base. The bending portions are extended downwardly from the pressing body to be located adjacent to two sides of the base to prevent the clip from moving horizontally along a lateral direction of the heat sink.

A heat sink includes first and second fin sets. The first fin set includes a plurality of fins each having a flange extending perpendicularly from an edge thereof and oriented in a same first direction. The flanges engage with each other in succession through locking parts formed thereon. The second fin set includes a plurality of fins each having a flange extending perpendicularly from an edge thereof and oriented in a same second direction toward the first direction. The flanges engage of the second fins with each other in succession through locking parts formed thereon. One of the flanges of an outmost one of the fins of the first fin set and one of the flanges of an outmost one of the fins of the second fin set are extended toward to and engaged with each other.

Heat sink

A heat dissipation device includes a first heat sink and a second heat sink juxtaposed with the first heat sink. The first heat sink includes a first base and a plurality of first fin extending from the first base with a plurality of first channels defined therebetween. The second heat sink includes a second base and a plurality of second fins extending from the second base with a plurality of second channels defined therebetween. The second fins extend beyond a common edge of the first base and the second base to extend into first channels of the first heat sink.

Heat dissipation device

A retention module () for securing a heat sink () to a printed circuit board () includes a pair of carriage arms () separated by a space and a connecting wall () interconnecting opposite rear free ends of the carriage arms. Each of the carriage arms integrally forms a lock catch () thereon to clasp the heat sink. A pair of opposite positioning ears () extend upwardly from corners where the carriage arms are connected with the connecting wall. The retention module and the heat sink are preassembled together via the lock catches clasping the heat sink before the retention module is mounted on the printed circuit board.

Retention module for a heat sink

A heat sink fastener includes a main body, a piercing body and an operating member. The main body has a pressing part for pressing a heat sink toward a heat-generating component. An engaging part and a latching leg are disposed at opposite ends of the main body. The piercing body includes a piercing part piercing through the engaging part, and a latching part below the piercing part. The operating member includes a cam pivotally connected to the piercing part and rotatable between locked and unlocked positions. At the locked position, a protrusion formed on the cam abuts a lateral edge of the piercing part to prevent the operating member from spontaneously rotating back to the unlocked position. A bent flange is formed at a periphery of the cam and engages with the engaging part.

A heat dissipation device includes a heat sink (), a fan holder () located on the heat sink and a fan () mounted on the fan holder. The heat sink includes a plurality of fins () extending therefrom and defines two slots () in two opposite outmost fins thereof. The fan holder includes two brackets () each having a positioning rib () engaged in a corresponding slot of the heat sink and resisting the outmost fin to thereby mount the fan holder to the heat sink.

A heat dissipating device () includes a heat spreader (), a radiator (), at least one U-shaped heat pipe (), a fan () mounted on the radiator and a pair of clips (). The radiator includes a first heat sink () and a second heat sink (). The first heat sink () includes a first base () and a plurality of fins () extending from a side of the first base. The second heat sink () includes a second base () and a plurality of fins () extending from a side of the second base. The heat pipe () includes an evaporating portion () attached to the heat spreader and a pair of condensing portions () extending upwardly from opposite ends of the evaporating portion. The two condensing portions are sandwiched between the first base and the second base. The heat pipe transfers heat from the heat spreader to both of the first base and second base.

Heat dissipating device

A heat dissipation device includes a heat sink having a heat conducting core and a plurality of fins extending from the core. The core has a downward extension portion extending away the fins for contacting a heat generating device. A locking device includes a locking plate defining a central opening accommodating the extension portion of the core of the heat sink therein and has a plurality of locking arms extending from the locking plate. Pluralities of cutouts circumferentially surrounding and communicating with the opening are defined in the locking plate. The extension portion of the core of the heat sink is punched to press the locking plate of the locking device toward the heat sink and have portions thereof engaged in the cutouts of the locking plate of the locking device, whereby the locking device is stably fixed to the heat sink.

A locking device is for locking a heat sink to an electronic device. The locking device includes a retaining frame and a guiding member positioned on the retaining frame. The guiding member includes a seat having a base sitting on the retaining frame, a sleeve extending upwardly from the seat, and two spaced legs descending from the base of the seat to retain the guiding member to the retaining frame. A fastener is accommodated in the sleeve of the guiding member and is kept vertical to the retaining frame by the guiding member.
